Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is my 1986 GSX-R750, I am the third owner of this bike and have had it for more than 10 years. Please note that this GSX-R is an original surviving piece of motorcycling history, not something pieced together from eBay purchased parts. All the bodywork is factory Suzuki. Aside from the Yoshimura pipe (which sounds great by the way) and the braided Stainless Steel clutch line, this bike is in factory stock condition. I have changed a few bolt-on parts around, but the bike comes with all the stock pieces to make it totally original (except for the exhaust pipe which the original owner replaced and I don’t have). Details; - This bike runs, rides and looks great! It does not smoke, make weird noises or have any electrical problems. - The clutch feels great, it shifts smoothly and revs freely. - All oil changes have been done with factory Suzuki filters and Synthetic Oil (Mobil 1). - Valves were adjusted about 1,000 miles ago. - The windscreen is a clear Zero Gravity windscreen, the original is included with the bike - The upper faring is in MINT condition. You will not find an original one in better shape, no cracks and nice shiny factory paint, beautiful. - Mid’s each have a bolt hole crack (very typical on this bike), and the left one has a dime sized scrape down to the plastic. Nice shiny paint on both. The small factory holes above the “Suzuki” are for the stock amber bolt-on reflectors, they come with the bike. - Lowers are in great shape. The right one has a small spot where the white paint was rubbed through. Both have nice shiny paint. - Tail fairings are in great shape, the left one has a small crack right above the footpeg that’s not noticeable until you remove it from the bike. The stripe on the left rear is a little messed up from the grab bar. If you reinstalled the original grab bar, which comes with the bike, you would not see it. The small factory holes are for the stock red bolt-on reflectors, they come with the bike. - Tank has a slight depression spot on the top. Not sure what that’s from, it was like that when I got it. Otherwise no dents or scrapes with very shiny paint. - Tires are in good condition, but they could probably be updated. They are the same tires that were on it when I bought it. - The left front caliper may have a slight leak, it could probably use a fresh set of seals. I haven’t messed with it because the front brakes operate with no issues. - The Front fender is from an '87 GSX-R750, I had a local body shop spray it the correct color for '86. The paint and clear coat are from ColorRite. I put it on just because I liked the look of it more than the '86 version, but it does come with the original stock '86 front fender if you want to change it back. The turn signals have clear lenses with amber bulbs, but again, the stock amber lenses come with the bike. One of the first two owners did drop the bike on its left side many years ago, any damage that occurred from that fall was fixed by the previous owners. Since I have had the bike it has NOT been laid down. Everything on the bike is absolutely straight (frame, handlebars, tail, faring stays, etc.) These are additional parts that are included with the bike (see pics), I will not sell any of them separately; - Three extra factory Suzuki lower fairings. All are used, repaired, badly scratched or have some sort of blemish. However, they still look good enough for use. I purchased these as spares years ago because even then they were getting hard to find. - Yoshuimura number plate. The attachment holes were filled and it was repainted. - Corbin brand “Gunfighter" seat. This seat was purchased and put on by the original owner of the bike. It is ‘80’s vintage and has wear consistent with regular use but still in good condition. - Factory Service Manual - Original Owners manual - Original stock grab rail - Original stock front fender - Original stock windscreen with trim - Original stock chain guard - Six Suzuki amber turn signal lenses - Clear turn signal bulbs - All the factory reflectors that came with the bike Note: the stand pictured with the bike is NOT included. For a 28 year old motorcycle this GSXR is in EXCELLECT overall condition. The bike is not a perfect museum showpiece with absolutely no flaws whatsoever; it is however a VERY, VERY, VERY nice, solid, stock GSXR that runs great and turns heads. Every time I ride this bike to a dealer at least one person (usually more) comes out just to take a look at it. Quite honestly, the pictures don’t do it justice. Also, remember when bidding that it’s getting extremely hard to find one of these bikes in good original condition that someone hasn’t screwed with; like busting up and ripping out the air box, cutting off the original grips, drilling holes in the faring to put on aftermarket turn signals, etc… The bike has a clear Virginia title and has been stored covered in my garage whenever not in use. Many times over the years I’ve tried to convince my wife to let me keep it in the house as a piece of art, never had any luck with that though. Contact me if you have any questions about the bike, but please don’t ask me the following; (1) to end the auction early, (2) what the reserve is, (3) if I will trade for another bike, (4) if you can pay after you sell your current bike, or (5) if I will sell the extra parts separately. I will not do any of these. Full and total payment is due within 7 days of the auction close. A $100 “good faith” deposit is due within 24 hours of the close of the listing and will be deducted from the total amount due. I will ONLY accept PayPal or cash. It is the buyer’s responsibility to figure out how the bike ultimately ends up at your doorstep. You can make arrangements with me to pick up the bike locally (preferred), or, you can have a vehicle shipping company crate, pick-up and ship the bike for you and at your expense. I cannot deliver it to you, meet you somewhere with it, crate it, take it somewhere to be crated, drop it off at the airport, etc… I am not a dealer; I’m just a regular guy trying to sell his motorcycle. Please don’t jerk me around, only bid if you intend to follow through with the purchase and if you agree to the terms listed in this auction. Bidding starts at $750.00. GOOD LUCK! On Mar-17-14 at 17:45:55 PDT, seller added the following information: *Added 3/17 @ 20:45*The left side engine cover (underneath the "bulge" lower faring) has some deep scratches from the previous owner, it’s a very simple piece to change out if you want to. I always meant to get a new (used) one, but because you can’t see it and it doesn’t leak or affect how the bike runs in any way, I never did. It would be purely a cosmetic fix in case you wanted to ride around with the fairing off for some reason.
