Up for auction is a 1979 Honda CX500 Custom. I converted it to a trike a year ago. I hate to sell but I need to move on to other projects. It still needs the carbs tweaked. I put a kit in them and did not do any more just started it up and drove it. It starts and runs good but bogs down a little maybe needs bigger jets or just a better cleaning than I did. I have only had it up to 70 and it felt like it was starving for fuel. At that speed it handled nice. I used flex pipe for drafting the exhaust but have not had the regular pipes made. This bike was parked in a metal shed in southwest Florida for almost 20 years. It had a lot of pitting on the chrome and electrical parts. Some of it cleaned up and some had to be changed. Even the CDI had rusted internally. I changed it with an after market one and it fires right up. The instrument gauges are making noise and will need looked at or changed. Rear end is from a S10 3.42 -1 gears and was not shortened over all width is 60 inches . All rear end brake parts are new. I used a Gold Wing rear master cylinder. I put on Camero rims with 245/50R16 tires. 1963 VW tail lights and Harley mufflers. This whole unit put in place of the rear swing arm. I added a third shock for better stability. I added a 1 1/4 inch reese hitch to the back for trailer towing. Arrangements can be made to view it before auction end. If more pictures are needed ask and I can email them.
