2002 Jaguar XJ8 86K miles in excellent condition cosmetically and mechanically – Electrically there is an issue that when the car warms up it goes into “Failsafe Mode” which does not affect the performance but if you keep driving it, it goes into “Performance Restriction”. This does affect the drivability of the vehicle. I bought the car knowing it had this issue and it was in such great shape I wanted to fix it but just do not have the time. I did have the throttle body rebuilt thinking it might help but it did not. The dealer wanted $1800 to replace all the coils and spark plugs. I do not believe that is the problem. So I am putting it out there to the Ebay community in hopes of someone who knows these cars better than I do. The car runs and drives great until about 2 miles. If you shut the engine off it will reset itself. Recent services include; Throttle Body rebuild, transmission fluid and filter change (Synthetic fluids) oil change, great tires, A/C charge. Car is in fantastic condition, all options work. The only flaws are a crack in the windshield down low, and the turn signals do not cancel themselves. This was a California car so it never saw any salt and it shows. Paint is clear and bright (garage kept) no door dings or bumper scuffs. The interior show below normal wear and the AC blows cold. This is a private owner car.
