Car was completely restored in 2007. The frame was sandblasted, epoxied and finish coated after it was shortened to fit the body. The side pods are from Unique Supply and are completely glassed in to hide the body line. The original orange gel coat was replaced with a conventional base coat/clear coat system. The interior of the car was sprayed with Raptor bed liner material to make it easier to clean and it won't mold or mildew if it gets wet. The motor is a 1600 VW with dual baby Weber carbs and an Engle 110 cam. Runs great but does leak a little oil. It is a Volkswagen! All dash lights and gauges work. There is a removable face CD player. The only thing the car is missing is a top and wiper arms. The wiper motor is wired up and it works but I never got wiper blades for it. I never intentionally drove the car in the rain! Front tires are new with less than 100 miles on them and the back ones are about 90%. We've had a blast with this little beauty but the kids are getting older and it's time to pass it on for someone else to enjoy.
