1980 Triumph TR8 Convertible 2-Door 3.5L- Normally aspirated and a LOT of NOS and Used Spare parts All sold as a package onlyThe parts alone would probably bring about $2,000 if sold piece by pieceMust be picked up at my home in Desert Hot springs CA near Palm SpringsNo foreign bids accepted or out of The 48 states of the Continental USA Some weak ares in car which will be listed below The Positive: 1.Car runs fine. Good V8 power. 2.Passes CA smog- All smog gear present 3..Carb setup original except manual chokes installed 4.Entire under body cleaned & degreased & undercoated 5.NOS speedometer showing 5413 miles since I started driving it 6.NOS Fuel pump installed 2 yrs ago 7.Oil pressure gauge installed showing 42 lbs with warm engine 8.NOS catalytic converters and Stainless steel exhaust system installed 9 All shocks, springs and suspension replaced with lowered springs poly bushes on suspension and sub frame. Suspension cleaned and repainted 10.Rebuilt A/C pump-A/C works fine11 New core installed with extra cooling tubes and bad cooling fan replaced with Boxter fan -runs cool with A/CThe Negative 1.The car has not started with just the chokes pulled out in a little over a year. The carp tops and pistons must be pulled and primes to start it and after warming up starts fine until the engine is cool again2.I have replaced 3 sections of rusted under body w/16 gauge auto sheet metal.2 which are located at stress points under the mounting points for the rear suspension control links. They are mounted with the strongest auto door skin glue I could find at 4500 lbs of shear strength and backed up with S/S rivets. Inspection after many driving times it and on winding mountain roads shows no separating or pulling away 3.Slight crunch into second when shifting too fast 4.Slight leak from trans oil pressure check port when driving a good distance. A few drips 5.Needs oil change and maybe coolant flush 6.Car was repainted a bit over 10 yrs ago and it looks good but the previous owner did his own prep to save money and if you look close you can see sanding marks on the side 7 Heater core is partly blocked- gets luke warmNOS parts: 2 Left Zenith Stromberg Carburetors 2 Seat belts 2 Headlight rotation control switches, sub harness,,plugs and pins 1 trunk lock-no key 1 Ignition switch with sub harness 1 Aftermarket convertible top in box 1 hood striker 1 Foam pad set for seats seat bottom and back 2 Rubber seat bottoms and hooks 4 A/C heater control plastic buttons 1 complete A/C heater unit 2 Tan door cards-back tabs need re gluing I Upholstery tan panel that goes behind seats-large 2 Tan sun visors 1 Wiper switch stalk and sub harness 1 Oil pump pressure plunger,spring and bolts 2 Door seals 2 Interior door handles-one without lock 2 Exterior door handles 2 Inside door lock and latch nmechanisms 2 Cardboard radiator baffles 1 Left tailight lens 1 A/C pressure reducing valve 2 Door window winder mechanismsUsed parts: 1 Gas tank 1 re buildable power steering rack 1 Set power steering lines 1 Intake manifold-heater connection pipe leaks 1 Boxter fan All convertible frame plastic covers 2 Tan headrests 2 Tan knee pads 1 Right taillight lens-no cracks 1 Set plastic central console 1 Central plastic A/C vent 2 taillight assemblies 1 Steering column with switches on stalks 1 Set dash switches in panel 2 Exterior door handles 1 A/C expansion radiator 1 Set windshield S/S trim .
