Vehicle Detail
1966 Ford Country Squire Station Wagon - RESTORED - SEE VIDEO 1966 Ford Country Squire Station Wagon Listed on behalf of Monte Shelton Motors. If you have seen the classic film, "National Lampoon's Vacation" you'll recognize this Ford as the inspiration for the Griswold's "Family Truckster." These station wagons were the all-purpose vehicle for the family on the go, with space for the kids, pets, cargo (and even a roof rack for grandma!) However, most of these wagons were used up and few remain today - especially in this condition. An Oregon wagon from new, it was delivered by Damerow Ford, and had one careful owner for many years. The mileage showing today of 62,000 is believed to be correct. After changing ownership, this wagon received a full detailed restoration, including: • Rebuilt the original Ford 390 V8. Bored to .060 over standard. New pistons, rod and main bearings, valves, etc. New water pump, oil pump and much more. All receipts included. Added an Edelbrock Performer 390 Manifold, 1405 Performance Carburetor, full flow Air Cleaner, MSD 8594 Pro-Billet FE Distributor, MSD 8202 Blaster Coil and MSD 6200 ignition control. This engine is dialed-in, runs and performs GREAT! • New power front disc brake system • New exhaust throughout • New springs and shocks • Cragar chrome mag wheels with B.F. Goodrich Radial TA tires • Clock and gauges rebuilt • New windshield • New Rostra Precision Cruise Control • RUST-FREE Body received a full repaint in correct 1966 Ford "Sauterne Green" metallic finish • New woodgrained body trim panels ($700 alone) • New chrome • Full interior restoration (including the seats, door panels and dashboard) with correct vinyl and stitching • This wagon has the Ford "Magicgate" dual-opening tail gate that opens to the side or folds down. Power rear window works perfectly. Much, much more has been done to make this wagon a standout. Please see photos and video. We are told that a total of $30,000 was spent on this restoration. One look and you'll believe it! This wagon needs nothing but to load it up and hit the road. Drive anywhere with confidence. For a retro vacation on Route 66, the ultimate "soccer mom" wagon, or a great advertising vehicle for your business, this would be perfect. A realistic reserve has been placed on this wagon, well below the cost of restoration. Please bid accordingly. WE WILL HAPPILY SELL TO BIDDERS, WORLDWIDE. Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK!
