Vehicle Detail
Relist* I just watched the auction end and it was super close to my reserve price. So close so here is another chance! I am selling this car and I do want it to go to a good home. I have a one owner 1976 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham 4 door hardtop for sale. The '76 New Yorker is really an Imperial but Chrysler quit making the Imperial in '75 and rebadged it as a New Yorker Brougham. I am the 2nd owner. The original owner stopped driving in 2003 where this car was placed in a barn out in the Palouse which is farming land where it sat until I came along. The original owner is currently 89 years old and he bought this New Yorker new from Tom Price Chrysler here in Spokane in May of 1976. It still has the dealer license plate trim around both plates. This car just turned 84,000 original miles. It has a 400 V8 4 barrel with the Lean Burn still intact. It still wears its original orange Mopar wires(however...I switched out the caps and upgraded those). This car was a barn find and I spent a ton of money on it to make it a daily driver. I enjoy rescuing cars and getting them rolling again to be enjoyed. I have over 2,200 dollars in receipts for all work done in the last 30 days that will go with the car. The tires have less than 200 miles on them. The only thing that is not original on this car are the new tires, windshield and new true dual exhaust from the manifolds back(has low rumble glasspacks..not too loud but just right). No catalytic converter. It never had one. The gas tank was cleaned, fuel lines blown out, belts, windshield, fuel pump, plugs, the radiator flushed with new coolant, air filter, intake hose, oil change, new wipers, battery, all fuses were replaced, bulbs, floor mats and cleaning. The paint is Inca Gold and the top is original. All power options work except for the antenna. It is stuck in the "up" position. These cars came one way...loaded to the hilt. The AC blows cold and the heater works great. The original 8 track works like new and the speakers do not "crackle". I had attempted to test it with a "new old stock" Grover Washington Jr. 8-track "Mister Magic" I bought off eBay but when I took it out of plastic...the tape itself was so old that it had broken...while still in the box. I was bummed. I ended up finding a Linda Ronstant one to check it out. However after a few minutes of listening to Linda I had to take it out. Not really my "go-to" when it comes to music to drive around with. Unfortunately for music lovers everywhere, the Ronstant 8-track went bye-bye. Sorry Linda,no hard feelings. It also has the rare wing window option which you don't see too often on these. There is only one small door ding on the passenger door,a small crease near the left rear marker light where the original owner hit something light. It is not very noticeable. The chrome shines like new. The electronic flip-up headlights work perfectly. There is a spec of rust about the size of a penny under the right rear quarter panel. I haven't gotten a chance to buff it out because of the weather but it will shine up really nice. It has never been in a wreck, rebuilt,or repainted. It does have a few imperfections but this car has not been restored. It doesn't need it. I am listing this for sale for well under what NADA puts it at. On a scale of 1 to 10 this car is about a 7..maybe an 8. It is a survivor. This has new plates and new tabs(if you happen to live in Washington state),a near full tank of gas and is ready to roll. If sold to someone far away,I will make sure to put some gas stabilizer in it for you before it leaves so you can get in it,turn the key, fire it up and enjoy. You will not be disappointed. This car has been all over the internet on various sites and The Brougham Society. As of right now, this car needs very little and will look great at any shows or just cruisin'. This is daily driver if you wish or just roll around on Sundays. *Note from me(seller). I have driven this car 24 more miles since I posted the ad. I took it out on the freeway and took it for a cruise. Running excellent Actual mileage as it sits today(3-2-14) is 84,162 original miles. If anyone has any questions please feel free to send me a message. I can and will answer anything you need to know. Thank you. *Note #2-I have replaced and fixed the brittle piece of alloy metal that goes around the horn button on the steering wheel and if you look closely at the front interior picture you will see a small amount of the carpeting on the plastic panel is peeled back a hair by the hood latch. I will have that fixed as well before it leaves my possession. Note#3. In case anyone happens to be wondering why I'm selling my New Yorker..it's because I found something I just have to get. Been looking for the right one for years and now I have one right at my door pretty much so I'm trying to make room. Besides working on and bringing cars back to life..I am also an artist and work on numerous paintings and car part sculptures. I needed something unique to haul my work around and I don't want to do that with the New Yorker. I can't have them both so I need to free up my space. I will be sad to see the New Yorker go...but hopefully whoever ends up with it will love it the way I love it. With a little minor detailing..it's gonna be even better than it is now and a super nice original cream puff. It's already an attention getter when out in the wild. You will get noticed..happens all the time. Buyer is responsible for shipping/pick-up and arrangements. On Mar-07-14 at 21:15:24 PST, seller added the following information: Just to answer some questions regarding the status of the New Yorker. This is a daily driver. The brakes are good and everything is up to date. This car is 38 years old so you have to expect things to happen but as it is right now in my driveway it is a driver with no issues I can see, hear or feel. I had another question regarding smog check in California. This car was bought new here in Washington state and is a "Non-Catalyst" car. The factory sticker is still on the door jamb. All of the other factory emissions set-up is still on the car...it was just born with no catalytic converter. On Mar-09-14 at 13:59:10 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been messaged about overseas shipping. I'm not too familiar with doing that process as I have never sold a car from the States to overseas. I can try to help out but I'm kind of in the dark when it comes to that. There are still 4 days to go so hopefully that is enough time to get something set up. I will keep the car under cover in my driveway out of the elements until it is ready to ship anywhere. I still start it up and let it run for a little while every other day. I'm not going to drive it from here on out though. I'm going to leave everything exactly how it is right now.
