1997 Ford Mustang GT Convertible - V8 Engine NY State residents please read the restrictions before bidding on this vehicle. The engine is strong and powerful - so is the transmission. No misfire, leaks, noises, smoking or slippage. Shift is tight and crisp. I drove this car about 10 miles in stop and go traffic and highway - no problems (and it's Fast!). This car is going to the highest bidder. No Reserve! No Buy It Now! Please Don't Ask! $495.00 starting bid! Wow!! The parts alone are worth the price of admission! This car passes NY State Safety inspection and the computer monitor shows no codes and all the emission monitors are ready for the NY State inspection process. However, my NY State issued inspection machine does not communicate with the car's on-board computer. Therefore I can not put an inspection sticker on the car at this time. My mechanic thinks the computer may have been altered or changed to increase the horsepower. The car was titled in Virginia where the inspection laws are more lax. Lights and windshield wipers are functional. Brakes are excellent. Front tires barely pass inspection and the rear tires are good. Tire size is 245-45-17. Due to the cold weather I did not try the convertible top operation, but was told it works. The power windows work, but the passenger rear window is broken. Body is clean except for the driver side door is dented and the grill is missing. The spoiler was attached when I bought the car. When I picked it up an hour later the ex-owner decided to take the spoiler as a souvenir. After a little coaxing he returned it. It needs to be re-fastened. It is in the passenger compartment for whoever wins the bid. Interior is weak and needs attention. Most of the gauges don't work including the speedometer, odometer and tach. True mileage is unknown. Gas gauge and boost gauge seem to be functional. There are no guarantees or warranties on this vehicle. Convertible top looks to be in good shape. No rot or rust anywhere. Because it won't pass NY State inspection ... New York residents are unable to bid or buy unless they are a registered car dealer, registering/re-titling the vehicle out of state or are using it for “Parts Only”. When a car is sold as “Parts Only’ or “Salvage” it must pass a NY State “Salvage Inspection”. This is done to keep rebuilt wrecks that are unsafe off the road – especially vehicles with frame damage or airbag deployment. My cars are rarely rebuildable wrecks and therefore will easily pass this strict inspection process when the problem that is advertised is corrected. There are about 10 to 15 NY State salvage inspection sites in NY State – 2 or 3 are on Long Island and there are a couple in NY City. Call me for further clarification. As a registered NY State dealer I am unable to sell a car that won’t pass inspection to a NY State resident. Anyone else can bid and buy.
