2002 Volkswagen Jetta TDI 1.9 I purchased from my mechanic (a VW/BMW shop) in April 2012 with 218,000 miles. My mechanic acquired the car from a customer, the valves were damaged, he bought the car and replaced the entire top end (cylinder head) with a new head from factory, new water pump and timing belt and pulleys at 188,000 miles, he drove it for 2 years, I bought it from him with 218,000 miles. I have done the following: New Thermostat Housing/Cooling Hose Flange @ 226,101 milesNew brake pads and rotors front and rear @ 237,119 milesNew auto trans speed sensor @ 239,695 milesNew alternator and battery @ 240,000 milesNew starter @ 243,687 milesRe-sealed IP (injection pump) and new fuel lines and new fuel filter (last week) 244,853 miles New tail lamp and head lights and wipers You can see from the pictures that the paint is worn, interior is worn. But, what a great driver for the TDI enthusiast. The work has been done by professionals and only VW parts used. I routinely would get 48-50 mpg on the interstate, 39-45 mpg in town. Since re-sealing the injection pump, it has made a wonderful difference. The timing belt is not due for another 40,000 miles. The A/C is superb in the summer, one of the best I've ever had. The stereo is really nice. Everything works, only the glove-box handle is broken (just recently). If you know VW TDI's, you'll know that this is a great vehicle despite its looks, especially considering the major components that have been replaced (I've invest 3K in repairs). Selling because I got a new vehicle, this has been my daily driver since I bought it April 2012. I have gone to Chicago, Knoxville, never disappoints and the mileage is awesome.
