This one-owner, Dodge RamCharger is listed for your consideration. A very dear friend of mine died last year after losing a battle with lung cancer, and his wife has asked my help in selling her late husband’s prize possession. He purchased the vehicle – brand new - from Ben Atkinson Motors in Tallassee, AL in August 1989, and he never missed a regularly scheduled oil change, and the truck was hand washed every week until he became ill almost 3 years ago. At that time, he was unable to maintain the RamCharger as was his usual practice, and his wife only drove it when she needed the space to haul lawn supplies. As a result, you can see some residue of the red mulch that she recently hauled in the back cargo area. The rear seat bench was removed for hauling purposes, but it is available for re-installation, and is in good condition. The front seats have been recovered, and with the rear bench in place, there is enough room to serve as the vehicle of choice for family vacations because of the spacious and comfortable environment. The headliner was replaced about 3 years ago. The original radio was replaced by an upgrade AM/FM stereo, with cassette player. This RamCharger has the upgraded option of Prospector package. It was my friend’s desire to restore his beloved RamCharger to its original pristine condition, but his ill health prevented it. The years of faithful upkeep have left this vehicle in unusually good condition for its age and mileage. Although the air conditioner quit working shortly after his death and has not been repaired or replaced, this vehicle has been regularly maintained throughout its 26 years of service. The RamCharger has been repainted with the same platinum silver and dark gray colors as the original paint. Although the photos shows streaks on the hood that could indicate discoloration, please be assured it is only the residue from this year’s pine pollen deposits, mixed with a rain shower. There is no rust in the paint. The headliner has been replaced. There is rust at the top of the windshield rain gutter, which should be replaced. The Michelin tires, size 235 / 75 R15, which were special ordered from Costco, have little wear, and were replaced shortly before the onset of my friend’s illness. From the photos, the depth of tread is clearly visible. The vehicle runs good, handles well, is dependable, in safe operating condition and may be driven. During the year since his death, the vehicle has been driven hardly at all, which accounts for the accumulated dust in the motor compartment. The oil pressure gauge has been replaced by an after-market gauge. The alternator and the battery were replaced April 2013.
