Hello.... PLEASE CHECK SHIPPING CHARGES BEFORE BIDDING! I AM IN ROSALIA, WASHINGTON. DUE TO NON PAYING BIDDER I HAVE TO RELIST...PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO BUY! ONCE PAID, IT CAN STAY IN MY GARAGE UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO PICK UP OR SHIP. I PUT A LOW BUY IT NOW...SO GOOD LUCK...THIS IS A GREAT CLASSIC FOR A BOTTOM DOLLAR PRICE. I am offering for sale a wonderful 1960 Volkswagen Beetle. This cute little bugger has not seen the road for about 11 years now. The previous owner was putting along when out ran a deer and bumped the front passenger side. Luckily he was not travelling at a high rate of speed. The hood and fender took most of the impact. I straightened out the hood so it would close and tapped a bit on the fender...It still needs the headlight glass and bezel, and the lens for the turn signal. Not sure if the hood could be saved....probably easier just to replace it...I am sure the fender is fixable though. This car is VERY original...showing only 73,700 miles on the clock. Nothing has been tampered with during its years of service. All of the interior is original and intact...The bottoms of the front seats need reupholstered, as does the top of the back seat. All of the glass is original and intact. The headliner is in very good condition, with the exception of the back around the rear window, looks as though it could be repaired with a bit of imagination. The pan seems to be very solid...no holes in the floorboards to speak of. I believe there is a small hole under the battery...but nothing serious. There is also a bit of rust near the front passenger tire, under the car. The drivers side running board area has some rust underneath. All of the rust on the body in the pictures is surface only. Please see my video of the bug at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yocD5xOxOuk The engine is all original including the heads. The engine number is 3705608. It starts with the turn of the key every time. Runs well. All the numbers are matching, including the heads. The transmission and clutch work, although I have not yet driven it....NO BRAKES! I took apart the front passenger side brakes, cleaned and honed the cylinder...have not yet finished the other three and bled them...I am not guaranteeing I will get this done before end of auction...so please plan on a bit of brake work. HEATER STILL WORKS GREAT! The lights work...minus the pass. side front (deer)! The blinkers still work, although half of the blinker switch broke off (in the glove box)! I don't think the horn works right now...windshield wipers work, although rubber is in poor condition. Radio is not hooked up...do not know if indeed it works or not. I replaced the plugs and wires. Put a new 6 Volt battery in. This would be an excellent bug to restore...or just drive as-is...once the brakes are properly working. The exhaust could use replacing too..a bit loud. The tires are old, but have good tread...they are all Continental 155 SR 15's. All of the wheels and caps are original to the car. Has a spare and original jack. PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE BEFORE YOU BID. IF YOU WOULD LIKE ADDITIONAL PICTURES...PLEASE JUST ASK! BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING, I WILL HELP OUT ANY WAY POSSIBLE...IF YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO STORE IT IN MY GARAGE UNTIL THE WEATHER IS MORE FAVORABLE...THIS WILL NOT BE A PROBLEM AS LONG AS THE CAR IS PAID FOR. A $500. NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT IS DUE WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AUCTION END. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING.On Feb-13-14 at 20:51:45 PST, seller added the following information: HELLO AGAIN....MAJOR UPDATE!! I was able to get all of the brakes working and bled out...I actually took a drive in the car tonight...handles very well!! Drives down the road awesome and straight. Steering wheel is in alignment still and suspension is very smooth. You can let off the wheel and hit the brakes and it stops in a straight line...very impressive for this old bugger!! Starts right up every time...Needs fine tuned...could use a cap and rotor and points. Here is another longer video of the bug.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAPAmhpQlVc . I will upload a video tomorrow with it driving down the road.On Feb-13-14 at 20:54:19 PST, seller added the following information: Link is http://youtube.com/watch?v=YAPAmhpQlVcOn Feb-14-14 at 00:11:21 PST, seller added the following information: Hello again Forgot to mention that I replaced the starter with a fresh rebuilt German unit. Old starter looked a bit crusty!! New one should provide years of trouble free cranking.. Thanks for lookingOn Feb-14-14 at 13:53:28 PST, seller added the following information: Hello.. Here is a link of the beetle driving down the road...excuse the wind please...I stopped at the top of the hill to show that the brakes do in fact work....and of course at the bottom of the hill! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlaZR4qa3u4 Fun little thing to drive! On Feb-14-14 at 23:57:10 PST, seller added the following information: Hello once again...I mentioned before that the emergency brake cable was broken...I was mistaken...it is in fact intact and functional.
