Vehicle Detail

Triumph TR6, 1971 A very clean, excellent running/driving example A nice, clean, 43 year old sports car that runs and drives great. No visible rust under (and no patches, no undercoating, nothing seems to be hidden), I was told was repainted a few years ago… No bubbles, no cracks, not even on the top of the rear fender seams where most TR6s show some bubbling. Runs great… 97k miles showing on the odometer (and was off the road for 14 years, kept in dry storage), zero smoke when cold or hot, 75+ psi oil pressure when warm, quiet valves, informed that it had a valve job and the carbs rebuilt less than 1,000 miles ago. Can’t verify BUT with no smoke, unusually powerful performance and perfect running (at speed or at idle), I suspect what I was told is accurate. Seats are excellent, same with carpets, door panels, dash top and wood dash. No real sign of wear. And the top appears to be nearly new. No clunks from the universals (a common TR6 malady), exhaust is quiet, tires in good condition (a note: car is offered for sale with the original steel wheels BUT, as a $1,000 option, can be purchased with the Panasport alloy wheels shown in most of the photos), the Triumph stripes on the front are easily removed IF a buyer doesn’t feel it enhances the look of the car… All gauges work, has a working stereo, new battery, VERY clean engine bay with excellent original wiring harness, even the interior light behind the seats works properly, brakes, steering, ride, handling, etc are all first rate. I know someone who spent $120,000 on a complete, total, ‘as new’ restoration on his TR6. I don’t want a prospective buyer to think this car is in the same league. BUT I have driven this car for the past year, it has not missed a beat, always starts and runs perfectly, runs cool in Summer, is the fastest seemingly stock TR6 I have ever driven, looks great without the ugly rubber bumper guards of later cars, and I would not have any qualms about getting into this car and driving it anywhere. I have tried to describe this car as accurately as I can. Its been a lot of fun but is being sold to make room for another classic I just purchased. As one might expect with ANY 43 year old car, there is no warranty or guarantee whatsoever and the car is sold ‘as is’ and ‘where is.’ I can assist in shipping this car anywhere in the U.S. or the world.
