1980 Honda Other CX 500 Custom

If you want one, this is the one you want. A 1980 CX 500 Custom, owned by a friend since new until last summer. It is complete, and stock. Has Hondaline engine bars, and a backrest/ sissy bar combo that lends real period charm (I took it off, but included.) The bike starts up and runs like a top, save for a slight hesitation around 4000 RPM's. I did a 100 mile backroad jaunt on it in the fall and it handles, accelerates and stops beautifully. It just needs to be ridden more. I had the carbs cleaned, all fluids changed, and front brakes rebuilt. My original intent was to do a cafe number on it, but I own too many bikes (12) , have too little time, and I've decided to let it go. This bike is nice enough to keep stock as a period- correct cruiser, or to go to town on as a cafe or brat. I'm sure you will not find a more original, low mile, one owner for 33 years CX500 anywhere. Flaws are minor, all due to the march of time. Some scratches and swirls on the tank, small dent on front fender, minor surface oxidation on the engine, frame and the ends of the exhaust cans have some rust.
