Vehicle Detail
Older restoration Honda CR125 Elsinore. This bike was restored by a body shop owner in New York State about 20 years ago. I came across it back when we all first got the internet started and I somehow hit an early blog and got in touch with the owner. I learned that he had a sister downstate here in Michigan and he was planning a visit. He brought the bike with him and we met up in a Big Boy parking lot. I fired it up and ran it up thru the gears once and bought it. I brought it home, drained the tank and pushed it up my staircase to my study. It's a 75 model that he refinished in 74 colors and put on a 74 pipe. It still has 75 bars. It has not run since, and I'm certain it would need a good carb cleaning. I've kicked it thru every few months and cleaned off the dust. The forks are spotless and shocks are not corroded. The body work was done in automotive process, but no clue the brand. The rear rim has a small dent but not gross. Tires were replaced when he did it. Seat is nice with no tears and nice Honda logo correct. Cables and all controls smooth and correct. Kick start nice and unworn. It has made a beautiful display for all these years, and the only reason for selling is to help fund a propeller for an airplane. I'd hope the new owner would keep it for display, or they could redo it back to the 75 colors or clean out the carb and go vintage ride it. Like I say, I am not sure how much work it would take to race prep her, as I only rode it once for about 5 minutes and it's been in my study since. I am not the restorer and have never taken it apart. It is not one of those restorations that some people devote a billion dollars on and create a brand new bike, but it is a well done restoration that shows well. I can keep it stored in my study until you want to pick it up, but I'll need a few days notice as I have to bring it back down a big wraparound staircase. I do not want to disassemble it or ship it, so I'm asking the buyer to arraigned their own pick up or shipper pick up. There is an owners manual and bike comes with a bill of sale. They say "ride em don't hide em", but I hid it for a long time. Feel free to ask questions. Thanks for looking.
