Vehicle Detail
1974 CELICA GT. Built in November of 1973. I am the one and only owner. I drove it off the lot in Upland, CA on January 15, 1974, 40 years ago. It's very fun to drive. I have the original sales receipt. It still runs and drives great. Over the years it has been very reliable with no major repairs. Doesn't burn oil. This car has never dripped one drop of oil. New tires, new battery. The original wheels have a beautiful powder coating. The carburetor was changed to a Weber. The back three windows are tinted dark. The original interior is excellent with just one defect in the drivers seat cover at the bottom left. The exterior as seen in the pics is straight with very minor rust bubbling at the rear bottom of the left front and back wheel wells. It needs paint. The only other defect that I'm aware of is the rear window defroster doesn't work. There is 12V but the window coil is open, should be a simple fix. I was going to do it when I replaced the front and rear windshield gaskets. The rubber gaskets (OEM Toyota) for doing so are included along with numerous other spare parts (list below). Original accessories: Tool kit, Jack and tire change tools, plug in glove box light and factory repair manuals all included. Over the years I have maintained this car myself. It's easy to work on and the repairs have been relatively minor, belts, hoses, water pump, shocks, brakes and other standard wear issues. I have maintained it judiciously so that now it is in the great shape it is. If you are looking for a first gen Celica I believe you will not find one that is in this good overall. Did I mention it needs paint? I would like a $500 deposit (PayPal) within three days of close of the auction and the balance when the car is transferred. Balance to be cash, cashiers check or bank draft. Available for inspection at any time with advance notice. Please ask any question you wish. I will answer promptly. By the way, it really needs paint. Also, there is a lot of interest in this listing. It has over 100 watchers. Just a heads-up, if you really want it you might want to consider "Buy It Now". On Jan-30-14 at 10:47:53 PST, seller added the following information: I was reminded of one more thing that doesn't work. The factory AM/FM radio in the dash does not work. I'm convinced that the problem is dirty controls from lack of use. There is a CD player with a radio so I haven't used the factory radio for many years.
