Moving house overseas forces the sale of my 2006 VW Jetta TDi Sedan. I invite and encourage inspection which can be arranged most weekdays in the Old Town area of San Diego or weekends in Jamul, East County. Information offered here is given in good faith, but there is no warranty given or implied. It is the buyer's responsibility to carry out all checks and investigations to satisfy themselves that this car is suitable for their requirements. I am happy to provide additional pictures and information on request. This is a rare chance to buy this spec of vehicle titled and registered in California. I bought the vehicle in as-new condition with 7000 miles on the clock in October 2006 from a dealer in PA. International travel each year means the mileage has stayed low as the car has been garaged for a few months each year. Always garaged when not in use, the paintwork is in great shape. The interior is in good condition too with no damage other than light use. (Non-smoking environment). There are no rips or tears. The inside door handle on the drivers side has some unavoidable scuffing. I noticed the other day that the fabric trim on the rear roof support / quarter panel has shifted a little and exposed a 1/4" of the material behind. There are also a few scuffs and marks on the headlining, but I expect these will clean right out. I am very careful with and fussy about my cars. The rims / wheels are in great shape. I can't see any marks at all. No rim rash. As you would expect, all the accessories and options work fine. I have a personalized license plate which is not included and will need changing as part of the sale. I will take care of that either prior to or as part of the sale transaction. I have a brand new Hidden Hitch tow bar and wiring kit for the car too which is included at no extra cost if you use Buy It Now. I have a clear title to the car with no finance. I have (rather poor quality) copies of the original window sticker and features. If you are not familiar with the Mark 5 Jetta sedan, it is worth doing some research (although since you are reading this, I guess you already know what I good car this is). There are many useful features like the split folding rear seats, child restraint seat anchors, climate control and heated front seats as well as fantastic fuel economy and comfortable performance. This particular car has even more airbags than normal with extra optional side bags for the rear seats. I have kept every fuel receipt for the 65000 or so miles I have driven and I think I have them all available for inspection if required. At random here are some fuel consumption figures: 02/24/2013, 500 miles on 11.99 gal = 41.7 mpg 10/21/2013, 529.8 miles on 13.73 gal = 38.58 mpg 05/07/2011, 207.8 miles on 6.4 gal = 32.46 mpg 01/07/2012, 492.4 miles on 13.7 gal = 35.9 mpg 09/07/2013, 411 miles on 11.94 gal = 34.42 mpg 09/19/2009, 173.4 miles on 5.3 gal = 32.7 mpg 01/13/2013, 517.3 miles on 13.3 gal = 38.9 mpg 09/07/2011, 320 miles on 9.1 gal = 35.1 mpg 11/08/2013, 523 miles on 14.09 gal = 37.1 mpg 12/08/2013, 438 miles on 11.22 gal = 39.03 mpg This represents an even mix of slow stop-start and freeway driving each day. I don't drive the car hard - but neither do I worry about being super careful either. I recently fitted 4 new tires. Included is a new oil filter and the correct VW spec oil for the next oil change, as well as a set of front break pads for when they are needed. The car has been trouble free as long as I have owned it and I am selling it now only because of the house move. Upon conclusion of the sale with full payment, the car will remain garaged at my home until collection can be arranged. I am happy to work with a vehicle shipper or for collection in person within 50 miles of Jamul / San Diego. $1000 paypal deposit required with 48 hours of auction end. Full payment balance to be made within 10 days of end of listing and in accordance with ebay terms and conditions. On Jan-08-14 at 21:42:23 PST, seller added the following information: Additional info: Although the car isn't due for its routine smog check for another year or so, the AAA told me today that I am supposed to get a smog test done within 90 days prior to the sale. I can't imagine this will be a problem and I will get on it right away. Worst case, there could be a couple of days delay after the close of auction. I will confirm here as soon as it is taken care of. On Jan-11-14 at 11:41:20 PST, seller added the following information:Smog test now passed no problems and license plates switched to regular plates. To make warranty easy for the new owner, I will make an allowance of $150 towards a brand new battery as I suspect the present one is getting ready for replacement.
