1974 BMW R-Series

I bought this beautiful BMW 1974 R75/6 in 2006 after researching motorcycles generally, and the BMW /5 and /6 lines in-depth. I rode it regularly for 3 years or so, mostly commuting to work (about 5 miles) and on weekends for longer rides in the rolling hills of central NJ & eastern PA. Some great rides near the Delaware Water Gap. This is a great bike for open road riding, as the air-cooled engine is amazingly durable. The build quality of these bikes is legendary, as is their simplicity - I'm no mechanic and got pretty comfortable with it. Anyway, I've since moved to NYC and don't want to bring it to the city. So, it's been sitting in my neighbor's garage and now (sadly) has to go as they are moving at the end of February. Things a buyer should know:* This bike is NOT currently running, and will need some work before it does. * You'll definitely need a new battery, likely want to replace the mirrors, fix a dent in the fender and work on the kick starter* I don't have the original toolset or manuals (they were gone before I got it, and I never bought replacements)* You'll need some way to transport this home (or at least away from my neighbor's shed) in order to take possession* Think of this as a project and you'll be happy - this won't be a daily rider without some work * Had this titled in NJ and it would qualify for a historic title & plates in NJ if that was interesting for you Feel free to send any questions my way.
