Look at this GORGEOUS 1970 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 Ram-Air III sport coupe that is a REAL22687 VIN Car! This is an extremely rare Formula Ram Air Ill Pontiac Firebird, there were only about 300 Ram Air III automatic transmission formula cars built in 1970. Even rarer is the fact that this car has its original number matching Ram Air III motor. The car is also documented through the Pontiac Historic Services, Sterling Heights, MI! This car also has full tinted glass, deluxe roof rail moldings. Custom trim group, with air-conditioning converted to R134, tilt steering wheel. AM radio plus 8 track stereo(not hooked-up), front center console and deluxe black interior. This car has undergone a complete bare metal repaint with base coat clear coat painting procedure that was cut and polished. There are some very small imperfections in the finish but as you can see in the pictures is STUNNING. The engine has been completely rebuilt and stroked and detailed to stock specification. Everything has been either rebuilt or is new on this car. The transmission was replaced with a 200R 4-speed overdrive transmission and has also been rebuilt. The car has all new tinted glass all the way around and a new gas tank. All chrome parts have been re-chromed and all stainless steel has been polished as well as front windshield and back glass trim being replaced with new correct anodize bright sliver trim. I have driven this car several times and it is UNBELIEVABLY FAST yet is easy to drive in everyday traffic. It has the tire roasting power you want in town, it will raise the front end when you put the pedal down, and has no wheel hop. I took it on the freeway it got up to 130 MPH in no time with tons of pedal left and was taching 3000 RPMs. This drive train is set up perfect, tire roasting power off the line and low RPM freeway cruising!!! The reserve on this car is not cheap but if you look at the picture above and the 100 additional pictures below and read this description carefully I think the reserve is fair for the car considering all the time and money (Over $60,000.00) that obviously was spent on this car !!. THIS IS A QUALITY CAR FOR SURE!! Let's start with the engine which is Original, VIN stamped 400 CID V8, Completely REBUILT by one of the top Pontiac guys in the US. It was stroked to a 467 CID and it is A TIRE ROASTING MONSTER. The transmission is a 200R four speed automatic overdrive transmission with the stock floor mounted shifter that was converted and has the 4-speed indicator, the transmission was rebuilt and has a Trans-go baby shift kit, and backed-up with a Multi leaf 12 bolt rear end with Posi. Sounds AWESOME too with the Dynomax 17733 super turbo muffler X-pipe dual exhaust system. Nothing sounds better than when you lay the hammer down on stroker with the right dual exhaust system. This car has Power front disc brakes with all new components, H/D front and rear sway bars, Power steering with a new box and pump, all the steering and suspension components are new This car has had a complete front and rear suspension rebuild including all new bushings, tie-rod ends, ball joints and upper and lower control arm bushings and upper control arm shafts. THIS IS BETTER THAN A NEW CAR!! Next let's move on to the exterior and interior. The exterior Midnight Blue Metallic paint is STUNNING and of course it has the formula 400 ram air III badging!! This car was stripped to bare metal. The metal work was then done and every dent was taken out in metal! Then it was bare metal primed and blocked and blocked and blocked some more. Then painted with Base Clear system and wet sanded and buffed. It is truly a mirror finish. The interior restoration included but not limited to, new door handles, restored dash and gauges, carpet, center console, rear package tray and all trim. The seats, front and rear were redone and are in great condition. This car is nicely equipped including JVC Digital AM/FM/MP3 with front Aux port for your phone or Mp3 player and speaker in the factory front and rear positions, factory console, original gauge package including tick tock Tachometer,160 MPH speedometer, and dual color matched exterior sport mirrors with drivers remote. All the rubber weather stripping has been replaced, all new Brake and fuel lines, new fuel tank. The all original Rally wheels have been cleaned, glass bead blasted and repainted and are wrapped in new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires and on restored original Pontiac 15 inch Rally wheels with new trim rings and center caps it really gives it that era Muscle car look. This is a REAL FORMULA 400 RAM AIR III that has had a quality restoration done on it. This is a VERY unique and solid car which any Pontiac enthusiast would love to own!! As usual I have tried to be as in depth and thorough with the pictures as possible. I have looked underneath and taken pictures of the undercarriage below and as you can clearly see it is nice. As mentioned every nut and Bolt was replaced or refurbished. This car has all its original floor pans and trunk pan was replaced and they are as nice on this car as you can get. WOW !! Look at this GORGEOUS 1970 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 Ram-Air III sport coupe that is a REAL22687 VIN Car! This is an extremely rare Formula Ram Air Ill Pontiac Firebird, there were only about 300 Ram Air III automatic transmission formula cars built in 1970. Even rarer is the fact that this car has its original number matching Ram Air III motor. The car is also documented through the Pontiac Historic Services, Sterling Heights, MI! This car also has full tinted glass, deluxe roof rail moldings. Custom trim group, with air-conditioning converted to R134, tilt steering wheel. AM radio plus 8 track stereo(not hooked-up), front center console and deluxe black interior. This car has undergone a complete bare metal repaint with base coat clear coat painting procedure that was cut and polished. There are some very small imperfections in the finish but as you can see in the pictures is STUNNING. The engine has been completely rebuilt and stroked and detailed to stock specification. Everything has been either rebuilt or is new on this car. The transmission was replaced with a 200R 4-speed overdrive transmission and has also been rebuilt. The car has all new tinted glass all the way around and a new gas tank. All chrome parts have been re-chromed and all stainless steel has been polished as well as front windshield and back glass trim being replaced with new correct anodize bright sliver trim. I have driven this car several times and it is UNBELIEVABLY FAST yet is easy to drive in everyday traffic. It has the tire roasting power you want in town, it will raise the front end when you put the pedal down, and has no wheel hop. I took it on the freeway it got up to 130 MPH in no time with tons of pedal left and was taching 3000 RPMs. This drive train is set up perfect, tire roasting power off the line and low RPM freeway cruising!!! The reserve on this car is not cheap but if you look at the picture above and the 100 additional pictures below and read this description carefully I think the reserve is fair for the car considering all the time and money (Over $60,000.00) that obviously was spent on this car !!. THIS IS A QUALITY CAR FOR SURE!!
Let's start with the engine which is Original, VIN stamped 400 CID V8, Completely REBUILT by one of the top Pontiac guys in the US. It was stroked to a 467 CID and it is A TIRE ROASTING MONSTER. The transmission is a 200R four speed automatic overdrive transmission with the stock floor mounted shifter that was converted and has the 4-speed indicator, the transmission was rebuilt and has a Trans-go baby shift kit, and backed-up with a Multi leaf 12 bolt rear end with Posi. Sounds AWESOME too with the Dynomax 17733 super turbo muffler X-pipe dual exhaust system. Nothing sounds better than when you lay the hammer down on stroker with the right dual exhaust system. This car has Power front disc brakes with all new components, H/D front and rear sway bars, Power steering with a new box and pump, all the steering and suspension components are new This car has had a complete front and rear suspension rebuild including all new bushings, tie-rod ends, ball joints and upper and lower control arm bushings and upper control arm shafts. THIS IS BETTER THAN A NEW CAR!!
Next let's move on to the exterior and interior. The exterior Midnight Blue Metallic paint is STUNNING and of course it has the formula 400 ram air III badging!! This car was stripped to bare metal. The metal work was then done and every dent was taken out in metal! Then it was bare metal primed and blocked and blocked and blocked some more. Then painted with Base Clear system and wet sanded and buffed. It is truly a mirror finish. The interior restoration included but not limited to, new door handles, restored dash and gauges, carpet, center console, rear package tray and all trim. The seats, front and rear were redone and are in great condition. This car is nicely equipped including JVC Digital AM/FM/MP3 with front Aux port for your phone or Mp3 player and speaker in the factory front and rear positions, factory console, original gauge package including tick tock Tachometer,160 MPH speedometer, and dual color matched exterior sport mirrors with drivers remote. All the rubber weather stripping has been replaced, all new Brake and fuel lines, new fuel tank. The all original Rally wheels have been cleaned, glass bead blasted and repainted and are wrapped in new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires and on restored original Pontiac 15 inch Rally wheels with new trim rings and center caps it really gives it that era Muscle car look. This is a REAL FORMULA 400 RAM AIR III that has had a quality restoration done on it.
This is a VERY unique and solid car which any Pontiac enthusiast would love to own!! As usual I have tried to be as in depth and thorough with the pictures as possible. I have looked underneath and taken pictures of the undercarriage below and as you can clearly see it is nice. As mentioned every nut and Bolt was replaced or refurbished. This car has all its original floor pans and trunk pan was replaced and they are as nice on this car as you can get.
