Clearing out the shop. A 1987 Chrysler Lebaron convert, first yer of the GTC, it is a turbo 2.2 4cyl automatic. Burgundy red leather seats. OK, here is why this car is the price it is and why its not much more. It needs work and there is NO TITLE.. I DONT HAVE IT, NEVER HAD IT and Im not going to have it. A legitimate title would be available through a number of different Alabama title companies. They run the VIN number and if not stolen they will issue a title for a fee.The vehicle is obviously not stolen or it would show up in the "Auto Check" system.You do your homework, I am not involved in providing a title. The original owner of this car ran it to 140,000 miles and never put a timing belt in it. When it broke they parked the car and I acquired it a bit later. That was 2002 and it has been in inside storage since then. If familiar with Chrysler 2.2`s you would know they were built specifically to be "non-interference" engines meaning when a timing belt breaks the valves dont hit the pistons and no internal damage is done. The engine turns freely not seized. The top is shot but I am including a good nylon gray color top complete mounted on a complete folding top mechanism so it is a bolt-on procedure, no convertible top specialty tools needed.. The battery is very dead after the long storage. Coolant is still to the top of the radiator.. Seats are in pretty good shape, a few marks that will come off, no rips or worn-through places. Carpets do have some stains but mats would mostly hide them. The car needs a thorough cleaning after storage so long. Tires are all decent and I have since the pics were taken put all 4 white "lace" white 15" wheels on the car. The bottom of the passenger door is rusting but no other rust through is seen, under the car is also good without rust through anywhere I could see. Turbo Chrysler Lebarons are becoming quite scarce and they bring good money., people loved these cars. They are a classic design and the 87-89`s had all the nice features that were slowly phased out as the years went on..The 4 cyl turbo cars were a blast to drive and sound good too. From what I am able to find out only about 1500 GTC convertibles were made in 1987., figures vary, but a very limited production car for sure. Obviously I was planning on keeping this car and restoring it since I kept it all this time but priorities change and a long distance move may happen so I have decided to pass the car so someone who appreciates these cars.
