This vehicle ran great. Everything worked fine. Engine did not blow smoke and the Transmission shifted fine. As a second car, it was only driven occasionally. It rained 3 days strait before I got to the car again.I was going to move the car when I notice water on the floor just above the carpet line on the driver's side of the vehicle. The car wouldn't start and so the 'project' started. For over 8 months I have had it at my mechanic's shop letting him know when he could get to see what he could find. I paid $65 for a good harness out of a duplicate vehicle. A lot of time and energy have been spent. I just found out now that even if I get everything wired up it has to go to VW to have everything get "matched" from the key to computer systems. If you know much more than I do about VWs this could be you diamond in the ruff. The body is in very good shape there is one very small chip in the windshield. The Perelli Tires are still pretty decent and the alloy wheels are in great shape. SO, I THIS POINT I AM DONE. JUNK YARDS WANT TO SELL THESE ENGINES FROM $1200 TO $1850, THE TRANSMISSIONS FOR $700-900, LET ALOME FRONT CLIP AND SO ON. Everything I knows about the vehicle is stated here.
