I am selling my 1988 Jaguar XJSC to pay medical bills. I had it in storage and it was to be a vehicle for my retirement. Unfortunately I recently had my second heart attack and my plans have been altered accordingly. The car has an unusually straight body which is the main reason why I kept it. It has almost no dings and the body has no rust. It is a V12 cabriolet and what I mean by this is that there are 2 T type tops that are removable and a rear removable hardtop section. It is NOT a full convertible but is close to being an open car with all the tops removed. It has all the standard luxury car features for its year such as air, power driver seat, power windows, locks, stereo, power steering, brakes etc. The car has been sitting in my pole barn for 6 years. and as a result some items are not working right now but did work when I put it away. I drained the old gas and put new and it started up and ran very nicely. However the power windows would not work, ( this is typical for these cars when they sit unused and is almost always corrosion in the switches), the wipers took 2 attempts but work fine, the power mirrors and power drivers seat will need some coaxing to work. The interior is tan and in nice shape but not perfect, has some abrasions, scratches, etc. I am being overly zealous in pointing out defects. I do not want someone thinking they are getting a showroom condition car. They are getting a well kept used car with 53,530 miles. The body however is exceptional for a car of this age and miles. The entire car inside and out needs an extensive cleaning. I did a minor cleaning of the outside. My current medical status prevents me from doing an extensive cleaning of the car. This is good for you buyers because the car will not look as good in my photos as it will look after a good cleaning so the bids will be lower. The brakes work but I DO NOT recommend that the car be driven more than a few miles until the braking system is examined thoroughly. When cars sit for a long time the brakes often need some attention. This is normal and good common sense. I have heard many horror stories about overly thrifty individuals who chose to drive a barn find car hundreds of miles rather than trailer it. To save a few bucks they ended up with a wrecked car and often injuries to themselves and others. You can rent a car trailer from U-Haul for 55 dollars a day!! I guy I know recently rented one from them. It is WORTH spending this money and having brakes checked out BEFORE you drive a car that has been sitting for years. It doesn't matter if the brakes seem to be working normally. Please refer to my photos. I could only take some today. I will be adding more tomorrow and perhaps the next day after. By the way this is an HE car. It is listed on the title as XJ-SC HE. It is a rare model being an 88 XJSC, a very low production car and even rarer with the HE engine designation ON THE TITLE! Don't miss out on this super straight bodied rare Jaguar. If you buy this car I require a 300 dollar pay pal deposit and full payment in 3 days after the sale. As I stated, I need to pay bills with the proceeds and they are due NOW. So if you need a long time to pay, do not buy my car please. The car can remain here for as long as you need to arrange to pick it up as long as it is paid for as agreed in the sale instructions.
