Vehicle Detail
This is my 1964 Jaguar E-type coupe. Here are some specifics: · Matching numbers – original drivetrain with less than 6,000 miles since a complete engine rebuild in 1998. Clear Washington title. Odometer shows 59,XXX, presumably turned over. I recently purchased this car from an elderly friend who lives here in Central Washington high dessert and who is in his 80’s. He has owned the car since 1999, and is liquidating certain assets. In his youth he raced Jaguars and was subsequently a commissioned judge at competitive Jaguar events. He has driven this car over the Cascades to Seattle on occasion and sparingly around the area in the summers. The weather is still great here in Central Washington so I've been driving it some. · It starts and runs great. Quiet engine; quiet exhaust. When cold it starts on the first crank. When warm it starts a little harder, most likely I haven’t discovered the correct combination of choke/throttle placement. · Runs excellent. No misses or hesitations. Very responsive. Surprising cornering capabilities. Holds temperature and idles smoothly. · Does not “pull” left or right during any operating function. · Brakes function properly including hand-brake. · All dash gauges function properly including choke warning light and hand-brake light. · All electrical utilities function: horn, blinkers, wipers, heater fan, cigar lighter, wiper-spritzer motor, lights, and brake lights all work except for the map light, interior light and the clock. · All glass is excellent. · Near new Pirelli tires on nice non-corroded original chrome wires. · One could fly into Yakima and drive this car home if desired. · The “Buy It Now” winner will receive the brand new complete interior kit from the G.W. Bartlett Company of Bedford, England. According to the previous owner this is more than a 2000.00 value. The original interior appears to have been blue. The new interior is all black. Previous owner removed much of the original interior and replaced one door panel. He’s elderly and couldn’t finish. · Issues: (I’m not a Jaguar aficionado, so these are assumptions) evidently there are some missing parts: the little green triangular left blinker indicator dash lens; the stainless trim on the sides of the windshield; grill cross bar; radio housing and radio/speakers; rear bumper chrome around license-plate opening? There is some white paint overspray in places underneath. The previous owner placed the car on his lift, and the only rust-through I was been able to find is at the very front of both floor boards and the joint. Driver’s side is better than passenger side. Although these don’t appear to be quite all the way through, it bears mentioning - see picture. Also, there are some typical rattles that occur when on bumpy roads. · I can make myself available to assist with shipping (be present when carrier arrives; place car on carrier, etc.) If shipping of the car is to take place and there is a Buy It Now winner, the new interior components will need to be placed in the car without their original boxes, as there isn’t enough room to house the four large boxes. However, most all components are sealed in heavy mil plastic. If Buy It Now is not used, new black driver's door panel is not included. Winning bidder to pay 1000.00 non-refundable deposit via PayPal at close of auction. Remainder to be paid by Bank of America or Chase Cashier's check or money order within 7 days.
