My plan was to fix the transmission on this car and have my son drive it to College this Fall, we've since decided to purchase another car for him. This XC 70 Cross Country would need new tires also the battery would need an over-night charge. The engine works fine but the transmission does not shift or propel the car in any direction. The mechanic that diagnosed the car advised me to repair or replace the transmission. Happy to answer any questions about this Volvo.
