1998 Volvo V70 R Wagon 4-Door 2.3L - PARTS ONLY - HAS BAD TRANSMISSION About a month ago, I was driving home and the yellow "up arrow" light started flashing and took me into "limp mode" I took the vehicle to a local Volvo mechanic and he said the transmission is bad and he does not recommend fixing it. Too much money. He took it for a test drive while at his garage and said the car stopped three times. Explaining to me that when it reaches a certain temperature, it does not want to drive. So he waited until it cooled down to drive it again. When I picked it up at his garage today, I noticed the engine sounded more sluggish from when I dropped it off, so I take it that the transmission is getting worse. My friend and I towed it from the garage to my home today. This car is not safe to drive on the road and YOU WILL need someone to tow it. Also, there were some codes on the OBD scanner for misfires on the distributor cap Check engine light is on and has been on since I purchased the vehicle. Occasional squeaking of brakes when driving the car as well. I loved this car and it was a BLAST to drive. SO sad to see it go. The body has some dings/dents/scratches on it. Please note the photos for a better description. The interior is in great condition except for the drivers seat which has a rip on the side. Great sound system!!
