Normal 0 This is an excellent example of a TL250. From all my examination it was never ridden hard and as a trials bike I don’t think it’s ever been in competition. As evidence take a look at the abuse the skid plate has endured – the original paint is scratched- it’s almost like new. In other words I don’t think it’s ever been through a section. Further positive evidence of this bikes condition is the motor. This motor runs like new with excellent compression. To start this one you need to move the piston just past TDC then a brisk but easy kick-start-swing will spin the motor through the next compression stroke and probably start he motor on the 1st or 2nd attempt. These motors do not have a compression release and to just jump on the kickstart lever puts a lot of load on the internal gearing-don’t do it. Those gears also drive the oil pump. All this positive info is not the full story of the bike. The exhaust system has been modified as follows: the original large triangular muffler has been removed (I have it. It’ll come with the bike). A larger pipe replaces it and proceeds to where the last 3-4 in of that pipe contains internal muffling (see Pic). The sound is louder that the original “Mouse Fart” level but it remains in the category of ‘a quiet bike’. Additionally 1 side cover is missing, the other I got in pieces but have structurally repaired but it still needs cosmetic work. And finally, the last owner cut off the rear hoop –for what reason I can’t imagine - I have properly re-welded it adding a smaller internal tube to strengthen the butt weld. Why am a I selling a very nice example of an early Honda trials bike? The answer is I always wanted one and I enjoyed it but I have too many bikes and I need to simplify my hobbies and life Delivery is possible coordination mandatory. Delayed delivery also possible but time limited.
