My husband bought this 1998 BMW 382IS for his daughter who always dreamed of having a BMW, but he is now just tired of being Mr. Fix It man. Since it was time for registration renewal, he figured it was time for this classic to find a new owner. For the most part, this car runs well and looks good. If someone is willing to take things off, clean them and repair, and repaint the front hood, it could be great. Actual mileage of 180,257. Title is clear with no liens but title says "salvaged" as apparently the car had previously been in accident(s) and deemed salvage by insurance but was then rebuilt. Since my husband has owned it, there has been no damage and no major problems. Exterior: No dents or body damage except for a few door dings which I think can be sucked out. Front hood and top of rear view mirrors need to be repainted. Front hood looks like it's peeling. Mirrors just look really faded. The little panel where one can put in a fog light on passenger side is missingInterior: Upholstery in fairly good condition except for one rip on driver’s seat. Needs to be cleaned. Carpet needs a major cleaningQuirks: Check engine light is on. Last time it was on, we took it to shop and the mechanic just turned it off. It may be a faulty sensor; it may be something else. Doesn’t seem to effect the car running as it seems to run really well. Passenger door window is stuck; motor needs to be pulled out and cleaned. Rear brake light works intermittently – should be repaired or replacedAir conditioning works but the fan motor should be cleaned as some particles sometimes fall down and get lodged in it.Highlights: Two back tires have less than 7,000 miles on them.
