Vehicle Detail
1995 Volkswagen Jetta GLX. Car fully loaded, only option was leather seats. Front seats are heated seats with control on dash. Please see attached 63 photos for a detailed look at car and condition. Being re-listed due to buyer who created account hours before auction end, Zero feedback. Purchased this car from my friend who owns his own VW Repair Shop in Northern Virginia, when the car had $100K miles. He kept the car immaculate, replacing anything that remotely needed attention. He has a shop that you could eat off the floor, that kind of mechanic. I have driven the car for approx 66K miles, keeping up with oil changes, and normal maintenance. 2 years ago I invested approx $4000 into the car: front wheel bearings, coolant hose/attachment at front of engine, wiper repair, new ignition switch, new window regulator, repair A/C system and charge (to name a few). Car has been maintained and not abused. Still runs strong, VR6 is an amazing motor, does not make noise, and performs well. Drivetrain sound. Motor runs strong, but could use tune-up. My friend the original owner did not want original trunk with spoiler. He replaced with GL trunk (not GLX). Sleeper, they won't see you coming (unless they count the 5 lugs, on the BBS wheels). Now the problems. I have purchased the next car (from the same friend) and I'm selling the Jetta. I have been keeping up with oil changes, but have stopped investing money into the car. The garage where it was repaired in 2011 listed these items as needing repair: Rear wheel bearings noisy, valve cover gasket leaks, oil pan gasket leaks, exhaust rusty, engine breather hose and valve leaks, lf window regulator without motor-125, RF strut house rusty, R tie rod book broken. This was their assessment of the car. Since that time the heater core began to leak. The core did not leak into the car, it has a built in exit tube that dispersed coolant to the street. The heater core has been bypassed with a 90 degree metal elbow (as seen in photos). The ignition switch was replaced, but the garage did not secure the lower cover plate properly and it has fallen off (also seen in photos). Car has been parked on the streets of Brooklyn and has received it's share of scratches and dings (Please see photos for details). Bumpers have been abused by other drivers. Both rear windows need new window regulators and are currently being supported by small suction cups. Car in good shape, but could use some TLC. Car is located in Brooklyn, NY. Local pick-up only. Auction starts at $1. Payment via PayPal only. Payment to be received within 1 day of auction close or item will be re-listed. Please see my 100% positive feedback and bid with confidence. Zero feedback buyers' bids will be cancelled. Please find a buyer's account with Positive feedback if you intend to bid. Thank you for looking and good luck! Please email with any questions. On Sep-15-13 at 13:54:32 PDT, seller added the following information:A bidder inquired about rust. I have checked the car for rust. Floor pans are solid. Driver shock tower mount is solid. Passenger shock tower mount shows signs of rust. Please see photo.
