Vehicle Detail

Offered for auction at NO RESERVE is an absolutely stunning super retro wagon! It was a life long California car until 2008 when it went to a private collector in Wisconsin, from whom I purchased it in 2011. The body is well above average for it's age. The frame, floors and undercarriage are great The glass is all original except for a new windshield and rubber I installed last year at Safelite. While it was there, I also had them install a new beautiful rear windshield rubber. In the photos you will see to the left of the rear license plate a factory installed electrical hook-up for a trailer! The original interior is beautiful with very minor wear and tear for a 56 year old vehicle. The photos are part of the description so please review them carefully! There is one tear in the headliner way back above the tailgate 4 inches that i think could easily be repaired if you wish. She is powered by the legendary 292 T-Bird matched with a 3-speed and overdrive. The only modifications done under the hood are electric wipers and a modern ignition (no points) that cannot be detected until you pull the distributor cap off. It was repainted in the correct Willow Green on 3/24/2011, base coat, clear coat. Before I picked it up in Wisconsin, I paid to have it wet sanded and buffed. After I purchased it, I flew into Milwaukee for a great adventure. I got the car and the next morning, I took off for an absolutely memorable trip from Kewaskum, Wisconsin home to Maryland, without a hitch! The car got really good gas mileage (I don't remember exactly, I didn't write it down, but I was pleasantly surprised), the overdrive was a joy, and it did not burn oil! I drove straight through! passengers of other cars along side me taking photos the whole way. The car has an aftermarket tach and under dash gauges, which will be included with the car. If you are a purist like me, you may wish to remove them. I didn't get around to it. When I purchased it, it was equipped with an after market stereo/CD player. I found a real nice stock radio and put it in, but did not hook it up. The speakers for the stereo were cut into the kick panels. I removed them and purchased correct reproduction kick panels and installed them. The car is pictured with radial tires, which are included. I have a real nice set of correct wide white walls that I never installed. If you are interested in them, we can work something out for their purchase after the auction. The car runs, drives and stops as it should. I have a copy of the previous Wisconsin title. Priro to the Wisconsin owner buying it in California, it was listed on a website by the California owner with photos! I don't remember the address of the website, but after googling a few minutes you should be able to find it. It is not necessary, just more information. I was not the one who located it, a friend did and pointed it out to me. He may have googled "57 Country Sedan California Images". You can look at them and the description and compare it to mine so you can make a better decision, if you wish. I have the California plate which will be included. This is a great vehicle for a 56 year old car. With that being said, it is being sold as is with no warranty. Those of us who own antique cars know what can happen and what to expect. You can expect anything, anytime. Part of the joy of the hobby. This car runs well and has been a pleasure. It has been very reliable for me. I love the Willow Green total 50's color and and the originality of it and stock appearance. I want you to feel free to ask questions. I want this transactions to be a positive one for you. I have been on Ebay from practically the beginning and have a perfect rating. I have a file with some documentation that goes with it. Some of the other things I have done are replace the front letters with some real nice ones, replace the hood ornament, things like that. I can't remember everything. It wasn't a whole lot, the car was already looking great, but I got enjoyment from improving it. I
