I bought this from a lady that teaches with my wife. Her daughter had driven it but neglected it badly. I bought it at what I was sure was a good price that would allow me to restore it for my daughter. I had it gone through by an honest mechanic that I knew personally. It came back from the dead just as I had expected. Now, 3 months later, it has developed some transmission issues. It shifts sluggishly when it's not warmed up. Once it gets warm it shifts great. My mechanic can't work on the transmission. My daughter has lost confidence in it and wants to move on. If you can work on the transmission, or if you can get it done, I believe the rest of it can give many years of service. I am confident that the engine and everything else is in good shape, and the transmission will do fine after warm up for some time to come. I will deliver the car within aprox 500 miles of my home if the buyer will cover the gas and return trip cost. I only gave 1000.00 for the car originally. I then spent 2500.00 for the repairs, and will provide the receipt. Spent about 400.00 for a hard clean up and cosmetic items. Then I was able to sell the car my daughter had been driving for 1500.00. With all that figured I've got about 3900.00 gross in the car with a net of about 2400.00 after what I recovered on the old car. I hope it brings me back the 2400.00 at least, and certainly would be a deal for the right person at that price. Either way it will be sold since my minimum has now been met. On Aug-03-13 at 08:27:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Sat @ 11 AM / Just had a call from a guy in Lawrenceville, Ga.(about 70 miles away from me) hinting that he would be willing to give 3000 now. I told him, and now am telling everyone else, that although I was tempted, I DO NOT END AUCTIONS EARLY. I have been on items that were pulled early and it made me mad every time, so I do not do it.
