Vehicle Detail

Hello Triumph Enthusiasts! Up for bids is my 1972 Triumph TR6 that I purchased several months ago. It had been sitting in storage for most of its life. The big difference between this car and the others on Ebay is that this one has under 59K ORIGINAL MILES! I confirmed this with prior owner who had the car since he was 18 ( and is now 32) and put about 4K miles on it that whole time. Thats tough to find. Strong running engine, very good oil pressure and compression, very good rear end, very good gear box. All wiring works except wiper washer switch (needs a new washer switch and new washer motor) and dimmer switch. The car was originally brown. New paint job by to the tune of 4K. The interior vinyl door panels are in need of some attention. The car has a CD player in it that you can actually hear with the top down. The car has a very well put together custom welded performance exhaust system that is superior to any pace setter or monza system out there. You can still hear yourself think at 70 MPH but it has a nice mellow tone. The wood dash isnt perfect and the air vents need to be adjusted. Nice luggage rack, Bumpers are decent but upon close inspection, the front bumper has a small crease. Steering column could be tightened up. Here is a list of the things I have done to it in the past 3 months: ***I just replaced the old clutch (which was date stamped 1980) with a brand new LUK 3 piece clutch kit, new ABS transmission tunnel cover, new rear oil seal in transmission, and I also had the flywheel re-machined. It made an AMAZING difference.*** Reinforced front differential mounts with the proper Moss Motors reinforcement kit (Common problem with the TR6) Replaced all seals in differential and refilled New rear diff mounts New Rear spring pad mounts New universal joints all around New clutch master and slave cylinder + Flush New tie rod ends and ball joints (i have not aligned it yet but it handles pretty tight. It will need to be aligned before driving any great distances) New engine and transmission mounts New U joints all the way around New upper A-Arm bushings New Steering rack mounts New tie rod ends Adjusted and tuned carbs Adjusted Valves New Goodyear Eagle GT 205/65/15 tires New front rotors and pads + brake flush New front shocks Removed vacuum retard unit and replaced with advance unit Bypassed emissions garbage that was not working anyway (performance boost) New wires, plugs, rotor Electronic ignition New Robbins Tan top with zip out rear window (VERY NICE) Other stuff I cant remember Basically, I am a Triumpoh Spitfire guy who got this car thinking it would be like a bigger spitfire. I have had 8 spitfires and this was my first TR6. It is easy to work on but it isnt a spitfire. I plan on using the money from this to finish my 64' spitfire. I am advertising this car exactly as it is and selling it as-is. It has been garaged for most of its life and you can see that by looking underneath. I have tonneau cover and convertable top boot. Over 18K invested between purchase price, mechanicals, + paint to get this car to where it is now. This is the perfect car for someone who wants a great driver but still wants to do a little tinkering. A few things the car could use: Tightening of steering column New carpet set + interior door panels chrome windshield trim inner and outer window waist seals Front end alignment (since I replaced most of the front suspension, an alignment is needed) Radio console support needs to be bolted in (its loose right now.) Choke knob falls off sometimes - I will include another cable with the sale. One of the rear brake cylinders is leaking. Cheap and can be easily replaced. I forgot to plug in the reverse light wires after replacing the clutch so there are no reverse lights. All other wiring seems fine although the fuel sending unit reads empty when there is about 1/2 tank left. I have a new fuel sending unit along with misc. parts and a bentley manual that I will include with the sale. It fires right up and runs great. I drove it to Newport, OR and back a few weeks ago with no issues. There is zero rust that I can see on this car. Paint is not a 30K paint job, but it looks really nice. I have it running very well and it is a very solid car. Please let me know if you have any questions! Car is also for sale locallyOn Jul-29-13 at 22:07:22 PDT, seller added the following information: Today I pulled out the battery to inspect underneath for rust through. There is some surface rust but no rust through under the battery! Amazing! Also, The steering wheel will clearly need to be reset ( see photos. steering wheel looks to be turned and front tires are straight) but this will be taken care of when the car is aligned by the new happy owner!
