Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE This 1963 BMW R 69S motorbike is in outstanding condition and has been in my collection for seven years. The R 69S is in concourse show condition and has been restored with the utmost attention to factory original parts and matching original BMW finishes like paint, plating and factory parts. This is an all-original matching numbers (engine case, frame, head plate) motorbike with most of its original parts. Both fenders, the tank, small parts and frame are in excellent condition, they have been stripped and finished in BMW black paint and with hand painted pin stripes. The inside of the tank was also cleaned resealed. The speedo was inspected and restored to new condition by North Hollywood Speedometer and Clock Co. and still retains the original miles. The original Bing Carbs were sent to Bing International for rebuilding. All small parts were cleaned and sent out to be cad plated. All original chrome pieces were striped and rechomed. All stainless parts were cleaned and polished, the engine case was cleaned, inspected and rebuilt. The heads were cleaned and replaced with new valves. The cylinders were cleaned painted and machined and matched with new first oversize pistons. The engine has all new gaskets and seals. Engine work was done by Rick at Black Kat Motorworks in Los Angeles, CA. The transmission and final drive have been cleaned, inspected and resealed with new gaskets and seals. The drive shaft was cleaned and the u-joints were inspected. Front and rear brakes were inspected and then rear pads replaced. Front and rear wheel bearing and seals have been replaced. Swing arm bearing and seals replaced. Steering head bearings replaced. Shocks and springs cleaned and checked. All cables, throttle, clutch and brake have been replaced with NOS cables. The original Wienman rims were sent to Buchanan’s to be polished, laced and trued. Also mounted and balanced new Heidenau tires. According to BMW archives in Munchen Germany, this 1963 BMW R69S Vin #657449 was manufactured in Germany on January 16th, 1963 and was delivered on February 13th, 1963 to the BMW importer Butler and Smith in New York. This original documented motorbike has spent most of its 46,000 original road miles in Santa Barbara CA, where I discovered it seven years ago. I also have the owner’s manual, tools, air pump and two brochures that came with the motorbike from Butler and Smith. I also have a certificate from BMW Group archives that shows date of manufacture and delivery signed by the BMW group heads. This outstanding motorbike is available for your inspection.
