Vehicle Detail

1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Original 3.2L motor with raceware bottom end, current on updates. Black /tan (camel) 138,000 mi Starts, runs, and drives/shifts with no issues. No smoke, no drips, etc… I have a file-box full of records. Original paint on car, less the updated front and rear bumpers, and driver's door. I updated the front and rear bumpers to 965 “cup” style. The front bumper is mounted on a tube-frame support with dzus ¼ turn fasteners. It is rock solid, professionally fabricated by a local race fabrication shop. The rear is attached with bolts, but I intend (intended) to do the tube support on the rear as well…just haven’t had time) The center portion of the 3-pc rear bumper needs paint. I also added turbo-width ‘button-on’ composite fenders. They are wrapped in 3M di-noc “carbon” to protect them and look unique. The car has 17” 964 cup wheels (not replica/knockoff) at all 4 corners and almost new tires. The brakes were completely overhauled with all new seals, rubber, etc..at all 4 corners. The upgraded brembo calipers were also glassbeaded and powdercoated professionally. The brakes function flawlessly. The wheels on the drivers side are curb rashed from letting someone un-named park the car in the street while we were working on the garage. They are completely repairable…but like everything else above, I simply haven’t had time. Seats are both original power seats...and all of the motors and switches work fine. All of the electrical in the car is working properly...no ghetto wiring spaghetti to be found. “issues”: The paint is 25 years old, on a car that was actually driven and used. It’s not horrible, but it’s not something I’d sit out and clay-bar all afternoon either. Driver’s seat has some wear-thru on the upper bolster where you rub getting in and out of the car. The AC is factory...and does work. It has a very slow leak somewhere, and the freon has leaked out. I am happy to charge it again, so that a new owner can see it will blow cold. I refused to put some 'stop leak' additive in there, and I simply haven't had the time or weather to find the leak and repair it. The driver’s side door glass is 100% manual. It’s in the track and seals shut properly (no leaks)…but I’d removed the window regulator/motor/etc...as I’d intended to super-lighten this car for more substantial track use. The passenger door is 100% stock and working normally (power lock/glass, etc). The drivers door top-trim is also not installed in photos, but I do have it. RS-A door cards and pullstraps are installed on both doors. The driver's door has been repainted, after I had the factory mirror holes professionally welded and filled....to install the cup mirrors. The passenger door, as mentioned above, has not been modified in any way yet....however it does have the cup mirror mounted as well. I was in the process of removing the sunroof assembly. At this point, all that is left is the sunroof “box” attached to the roof…and the sunroof panel itself. I have it wedged in place to keep the car sealed up…however, the car is parked in my garage full-time anyway. My hope is that I can find a buyer with means… who will appreciate the car….DRIVE THE CAR…take it to the track every now and then…etc. I would love to just park it in a corner and pick it up later when I have more time, but I have a full-time+ job and two young children. I typically only get to take the car out about once a month…and even then it’s only to keep the seals lubricated and to run out the flatspots on the tires. If there are any other questions, comments, concerns...please don't hesitate to send me a message. I'm more than happy to expand or elaborate on any details! On Jul-18-13 at 14:14:32 PDT, seller added the following information: Just an update... I've received this as a question from many people. I -DO- have the clear blue Texas title, in my name, in my possession. It is clear, meaning NOT salvage, rebuilt, etc. No liens or other issues at all. I will provide the title, a bill of sale, and a Texas sale/transfer form upon delivery of vehicle. If it's an international sale, I'll be happy to assist with the paperwork associated with that. Thanks! On Jul-18-13 at 14:17:47 PDT, seller added the following information: Also... Today is the first day in my area that it hasn't been nasty and raining outside. I'll take several more pictures of the details people have been asking about and get them posted to this listing by this evening. I'm also planning on making a video so that potential buyers can see it start up from cold, run, drive, etc.... Thanks for your patience and bids!! -Scott On Jul-20-13 at 00:46:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I apologize (again) for the delay in additional pics. The response has been overwhelming...but the weather has not been cooperative for me! Today is Saturday 7/20... I will get the pictures and video up TODAY regardless of weather. You might just have to deal with some beaded water on the exterior photos. Thanks for hanging in there! -Scott
