A Completely Stock and Unblemished Honda Rune with only 3900 Original Miles Rune: Honda's Limited Edition Collector's Item If you are looking at this auction, you likely already know the story behind the very limited edition and very cool Honda Rune. The Rune was originally unveiled as a concept bike at the Retro-mobile Auto Show in France and won awards and accolades for its design. It was so well received that Honda agreed to build a limited run of one-bike-per-dealer. They stuck to their commitment of a limited edition run and between its rarity and retro-modern design, the Rune has become a collector's item as a result. So while others have "adorned" their bikes with after market accessories adding windshields or saddlebags, I feel that this defeats owning a rare limited edition bike such as the Rune. As such, I have left mine in its award winning stock condition. An immaculate bike that is Literally in Showroom Condition This bike is as immaculate as the day it was delivered from the dealer. I purchased this bike brand new from behind the velvet ropes right off the showroom floor and it has been garaged and cared for with kit gloves ever since. It has been ridden conservatively and has a total of 3930 miles on it. It has never been dropped, never been down and never had any sort of damage. The bike is completely stock with the exception of the "logo" reservoir covers on the handlebars. However, I do have the originals and will include them for the new owner. It also has the chrome wheel factory option and is the rarest of the colors, Illusion Blue. Includes all Original Paperwork and Rune Build Book from Honda If you hadn't realized that a customized build book was sent to original Rune owners, it's because most owners kept the book, even if they no longer owned the bike. It's a customized book that details the complete story of how the Rune came to be, with a matching painted metal and leather cover. As much as I'd love to keep the book, as a collector of classic automobiles I'm aware of the importance of provenance and documentation and simply feel that the book, CD and original letter of thanks from Honda should remain with the bike. I'll also include the original framed Rune poster that was given to me by the dealer. I've seen the poster alone sell for hundreds of dollars due to its rarity.
