Travis Dowell, Jr. Charlotte, North Carolina (704) 804 0806, mobile Well this is one that I bet you didn’t think you would find here on eBay! If you feel this way, then you are like I was last summer when seeing this car for the first time. It is breathtaking! Very well preserved and nearly all original example of Cadillac’s finest in 1980! This example was primarily owned and garaged in Red Bank, NJ from new, until the original owner’s estate sold the car to a local dealer, Billy Bob’s Fast Cars, from whom I bought it. The dealer purchased it for resale only, so in essence, there are only 2 real owners, along with the dealer. I purchased it last summer and added it to my car collection. It was meticulously maintained throughout its life. It was also garaged, and it shows. I have only used it to go to car shows and/or Cadillac dealer service! Mileage is 13,688 and is believed to be original. Everything about the car speaks to these miles as correct and true. Just ahead of my purchase of the vehicle a year ago this summer, the following services were performed to the car and done by the Cadillac dealer at an approximate expense of $7,500.00! · Full Tune Up, including plugs/wires/distributor · Rebuilt 4 barrel carb. · Replaced valve cover gaskets and added Edelbrock chrome valve covers · New Belts and Hoses · New Brakes · New Shocks · New Heater Core · Various Front end parts as needed · A/C System Fully Serviced including new compressor and all related components · New Water Pump · All fluids flushed and replaced with new · Replaced new Cooper Whitewall tires – These have been removed in favor of the correct 1.6” whitewalls, and go with the car if you want. · Replaced Front and Rear Plastic Bumper Fillers. During my time with the car, I have primarily only used it at local Cadillac car shows. It won a trophy at a GM show last fall in Lenoir, NC for “Best Interior”. I have done the following to it: · Fully serviced the car (2 Changes) with new oil and ZMAX engine oil additive · Serviced the brakes, including replacement of brake lines and cylinders. · Serviced the exhaust system which included a new muffler and tail pipe. · Replaced battery with Delco Heavy Duty model; the battery has a factory warranty for 5 years. · Replaced the tires that were nearly new with 2013 Coker period correct 1.6” wide whitewall tires. · Replaced Right Side Chrome Rear View Mirror · Fully Flushed Radiator with new coolant · Nitrogen Tire Service There were actually relatively few of these Detroit Cadillac Factory made Limousines back in the 1979/1980 period, and here are the statistics: · Introduced: October 11, 1979, with a new body style evolving from the success of the 1977-1979 period but adapting to a new decade of changing tastes and customer requirements. · 2,362 Fleetwood Limousines and Formal Limousines were built at the Cadillac factory in Detroit, Michigan · Standard engine was the 368 cubic inch “Cast Iron” 8 Cylinder with 4 BBL “Quadrajet” Carburetion System, coupled with the THM-400 3 speed Automatic Transmission. · Overall Length : 244.1” · Shipping Weight :4,629 lbs. In this model, there is seating for 8 people. There is no formal divider partition in the car. The rear passengers ride in the lap of luxury and enjoy tinted window glass with access to rear controls for the Climate Control System and windows. This car starts and drives beautifully. It is really a floating living room. It garners attention from every direction when it is on the road. When not in use, it is garaged and covered. Everything works as it should, even the power antenna! The transmission shifts smoothly and flawlessly. The engine starts, runs, and drives quietly with no problems. The car does not appear to have any leaks. All is tight and solid. All service has been done by Cadillac. It recently passed inspections at the dealer with flying colors (May, 2013). As with any 33 year old car, you have at least a few things on the list worth mentioning that could use attention at some point: · Hood paint is checked / cracked on the driver’s side, and needs to be repainted. This is pretty common on these cars. The hood appears to have been repainted at some juncture, and now needs it again. It doesn’t appear to match the quality of the paint on the rest of the car. See photos of hood shown in the ad depicting this problem. · The rear plastic fillers underneath the trunk lid are cracked and need to be changed. Replacement fillers have been bought and will go with the car to the new owner. See photos identifying this condition. · Rear Trunk paint is presentable, but appears to have been waxed many times over the years and paint is wearing thin on some spots. You can’t tell this unless you look at it VERY closely. It is really not detectable by the passer by. I wanted to mention it to prospective bidder. The above are super minor really and are easy fixes. Still too, there isn’t anything stopping anyone from simply enjoying the car, “as is”, as I have for the prior year. All of the body on the car is solid and very clean, polished, and presentable, with no rust or body damage. The undercarriage is solid with undercoating still intact. I am selling the car due to the fact I am currently downsizing my collection. The sale of the car has absolutely nothing to do with the car itself, it is phenomenal in every way! See more photos of it at: http://s1157.photobucket.com/user/tradow1/library/ The original floor mats for the front of the car are available along with the original spare tire. The spare tire is as new and never used. When I replaced the tires I elected to also replace the spare for safety. After 33 years, I didn't want to risk it!
