Vehicle Detail

1959 AUSTIN HEALEY Bugeye SPRITE. I bought this car from a guy who had it in inside, dry storage for many years. Last on the road in 1970! I have been around British sports cars for many years and this is the oldest one I have ever seen still in it's original factory paint. Certainly some surface rust, dents and creases here and there, see photos. Bondo on a dent in the right rear quarter, which could probably be removed and reworked, as I imagine the original sheet metal is behind the bondo. Original upholstery is in unbelievably nice condition, as is the tonneau cover. Both headlights are the Lucas originals. Other than a few extra holes in the dashboard and two holes for radio antennas, I could not find any other alterations from the way this car left the factory in 1959 ! The car has the original 948 engine and drive train. Floors, doors and underside are in great shape. Trunk area is also very, very solid. It has the original top, top frame and side curtains, although it appears that the sliding plexi-glass has been replaced at some point in the past. Two odd rusty holes in the firewall above the battery. The car has a small crack in the windshield. Sorry, but there is no spare tire or jack with the car. However, I can provide you with a spare tire from another car if you would like. Hood is currently off of the car (see photos), but will be re-attached before delivery. The car is being sold AS/IS and with no warranty. I will provide a bill of sale and a state of Wisconsin registration. A $500 Non Refundable Pay Pal Deposit is due within 48 hours of auction end. Balance due via Cash, personal check or Cashiers Check within 7 days of auction end - no exceptions! Buyer is responsible for pickup and transportation. Car needs to be picked up within 20 days from the time that your final payment clears my bank. The car is located in 20 minutes west of Milwaukee, WI. Please come and take a look at the car if you can. If you desire extra photos, or photos of any particular part or area of the car, please let me know and I will try to accommodate your wishes as quickly as I can.On Jul-09-13 at 15:00:21 PDT, seller added the following information: 1959 AUSTIN HEALEY Bugeye SPRITE. Added 7-9-2013: Engine does not turn over using the fan belt. I am afraid to use the starter to try to turn it over, as I do not want to break any stuck rings. Master brake cylinder is also frozen, but master clutch cylinder is free. Car rolls reasonable well, but right rear brakes are a bit tight. Water temp rod is complete from radiator to back of gauge.
