Hello! THIS IS THE 4TH TIME RELISTING THIS MOTORCYCLE DUE TO NON-PAYING BIDDERS!!! PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU PLAN ON BUYING!!! SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY!!! PLEASE!!! THANK YOU!!! Here is my 1985 Honda Shadow VT700C Motorcycle for auction. This will be the fifth season not riding it, so I have decided to sell it. I bought this motorcycle back in the spring of 2001, and the rear cylinder head gasket was blown. So, I took it to All Seasons Motorsports in Howell Mi. and put over $600.00 worth of work in the motor. I have the receipt. I got it back and rode it till the fall of 2008. I put over 6,000 miles on it. In 2004, I had a new front tire put on, new front brake pads, and new front fork seals installed. I put in a new battery in 2005, now it is bad again and needs replaced. The rear tire was put on new in 1999, the previous owner told me. So, I would highly recommend replacing the rear tire. (And maybe the front, due to its age???) The following parts I put on new: Right front turn signal, The headlight chrome mounting ring( the old one was rusted), one new horn, new mirrors, the radiator cooling fan switch (the cooling fan seemed to be coming on to late causing the temp. gauge to raise, after the new switch is has been perfect) new gas cap ($55.00), A new left side cover that says Shadow on it that covers the battery( It was missing when I bought the bike), A newer air filter, a new starter solenoid, I put on new saddlebags, the windshield and I had the seat reupholstered ($100.00) I changed the engine oil and filter every spring, and ran Honda GN4 oil in it with a Honda oil filter at every change. It needs to be changed now from sitting. I also had changed the rear final drive oil. And I changed the clutch fluid, and front brake fluid- about 8 years ago. The issues: The engine starts right up and runs good. It uses some oil, its about a quart every 1,000 miles, depending how hard you are on the throttle. The transmission shifts fine- it even has a 6th gear overdrive! The rear cylinder head gasket is leaking a little coolant on the outside on the right side of the motor. I put some right stuff sealant around this area in an attempt to try and stop the leak. (See photo) It did slow it down a little, I just kept riding the bike and kept the coolant full, and never had a problem with the leak. The right side exhaust has a hole near the rear. (See photo) The right rear turn signal rubber mounting broke (See photo) and the left front is about to brake. And, both sight glasses for the front brake and clutch fluid are leaking (See photo) This is common with older bikes. This bike is in great shape for its age! The paint is nice and shiny. The chrome is nice and shiny. I waxed all of it. Everything works as it should. All the lights, horns, and speedo and tach. It is mostly all original. Again, I put over 6,000 miles on the bike after the engine work was done, it used some engine oil and the small leak around the rear head gasket never seemed to affect performance. It still has plenty of power and was always reliable. If I remember right, it got about 53 MPG when easy on the throttle. Payment is by CASH ONLY,, PLEASE!!! The bike comes with the original owners manual, Clymer service manual, and original tool kit. The title is clear. This will be a local pick-up ONLY! Any questions? Please ask!!! Thanks for looking, have a great day!!!
