Vehicle Detail

1951 Willys Pickup, 4WD, 1-Ton EXCELLENT CONDITION Condition:Having owned several Willys, i would rate this truck in EXCELLENT condition. In my experience, It is rare to find this specific truck (1-ton) in such great shape. Likely because of the 1-ton rating, typically this model was more likely to get abused and forgotten in the farm fields. Not so with this one. I know that it has been garaged for the past 10 years...I would suspect most of it life as well. Good luck to all bidders Specifications: Engine- F-134 Hurricane, runs strong. Former owner estimates 50k miles on rebuild (no paperwork on this. Compression and sound are great.Transmission- -Borg-Warner T-90. 3-speed transmission (rebuilt in 2013) + WARN OVERDRIVE ($1,000). The 3 speed transmission and 2 speed transfer (overdrive) gives 6 forward speeds, 2 in reverse. Add this to 4WD (high and low) and this truck technically has 16 speeds. Spicer/Dana 18 transfer case. Axles-The front axle is a Dana 25. Rear axle is the meat and potatoes of the 1-Ton rating. Heavy duty Timken 51540 is a clam-shell style rear axle. In its day, the 4WD model was rated at 5,300 gvw, = 1-Ton payload. It is the beefiest axle I have ever pulled off a Jeep. It has been totally rebuilt (2013) and this sale includes a spare set of rear axles and Timken housing. Also, a Dana 53 is and easy swap. Electrical-12 volt conversion battery/alternator/etc. Total rewiring is in progress. Body- The body of truck is in amazing shape. So good that I was skeptical when i first look at it. After 6 months of being under this truck, I found only minimal floorboard rust and NO evidence of Bondo. The paint is in fair condition and has several minor scratches throughout the truck. Dash is all original with 6 volt conversion. Two negative things are noteworthy: the former owner install truck/trailer mirrors and drilled right through the doors to mount it. Why you would do this is beyond me? Also, on the drivers side front finder there is an appx. 4" square where the paint has "gummed" off, as if the primmer never dried. Trim- -Original heater, painted to match. Two spare tire holders. Good rubber 30x9.5x16. Tons of misc. parts will ship with this truck. Recent Upgrades of 2012-2013- -Rebuilt rear-end -Rebuilt transmission -New clutch -New wiring (in progress) -New gas tank (vinyl) -New custom headliner -New thermostat, hoses, radiator (serviced) -New brakes, wheel cylinders, brake-lines, and master cylinder -New air filter (dry), hoses, belts, etc. Things that still need TLC: -Paint has minor scratches. -Passenger-side window needs new glass Title- Clear and in hand (CA)
