1976 BMW R75/6 with 38K miles and matching frame/engine serial numbers. This vintage machine is in very nice overall condition with original rust-free BMW exhaust and what is believed to be the original paint and hand striping on the tank and fenders. Bike was inspected and on the road last year. Everything (lights, instruments, etc.) works. The sale will include engine guards, BMW hard bags and mounting brackets. Bike starts, runs, and shifts well. Within the last 2 years (1,000 miles): - New tires - New battery - New air cleaner, plugs, points, and condenser - Tune-up including carb clean and sync, petcock rebuild, timing, valve adjustment, and oil change - Rebuilt master cylinder - Replaced left side head gasket and pushrod seals along with main differential seal - Spline lube The service history of the machine is unknown. I bought the bike about a year ago to add to my collection by a gentleman who had bought it a year prior. He got the bike running after it had stood idle for some unknown time. He rode the bike for one year (1,000 miles) and then sold it to me. During the previous auction I had an individual questioning if the tank, seat, and fenders are correct for a 1976 R75/6. I believe they are and that the /7 style tank and seat were options on later /6 machines. However, I am not an airhead historian and do not know with absolute certainly if the bike is 100% correct as delivered from the factory. Please look at the photos closely and research this if it is important to you. To the best of my knowledge I believe the mileage is accurate and that the paint is BMW original (hand laid striping not under any clear coat). Feel free to contact me to discuss at (607) 221-7298.
