Vehicle Detail

up for auction is this fantastic and original 1972 FORD COUNTRY SQUIRE 8 PASSENGER WAGON. this wagon runs and drives GREAT! it belonged to the father of a very good friend. he was a real southern gentleman and a great guy who loved life, and of old cars. when he passed away two years ago he left a lot of antique cars and i chose this one out of the brood, lord knows why LOL. it really is a great car though and is still wearing its original paint with its lovely all original 1972 interior. nothing has been changed. the headliner is as tight as a drum, the carpets are just about perfect and the seats are super nice and have the optional headrests. i have the original window sticker, owners handbook, metal protecto plate and lots of other paperwork, not all of which is shown in the picture. i just put the things i thought were pertinent on the hood and took a picture. there are a few things i would like to mention about the overall condition. as i said the paint is original and shines like new though my hubby says its a bit 'thin' in places. there has only ever been minor touch up done for rock chips, a few scratches and so forth. the ONLY area that really needs any attention right now is the lower left corner of the drivers door, see picture. that truly is the worst part on the whole car. there are a couple of other little bumps here and there buts thats about it. the right front fender seems to have a sort of 'dip in it' is the only way i can describe it, i`m not the most technical girl in the world LOL. i tried to take a good picture of the 'dip' but its very difficult to get it to show up because of the wood grain finish. but you can easily feel it if you run your hand along the fender. the drivers seat has had a repair done to the seat back, it looks like it had an L shaped tear that was stitched up and there are a couple of split seams on the driver seat cushion. the rear passengers seat and the kiddie seats that pull up out of the rear floor are just perfect, see pictures. the padded dash is in two pieces and the passenger side piece has some cracks in it but i`m sure an enterprising enthusiast could fix it or have it re covered maybe? there is a depression / dent in the hood toward the right front which you can see when the light hits it, according to my hubby the paint is bruised there but not broken. he has such a way with words! all the glass is perfect and the windows just zip up and down. the wood grain side panels have been re done at some point and the blonde 'wood trim' accents around the panels have been re painted and jolly smart it all looks too. according to my hubby its not what he calls 'a concours job' but people sure seem to love it and this lovely old car gets LOTS of attention! the car starts instantly hot or stone cold and the transmission shifts perfectly, you hardly notice it shifting. the drive quadrant pointer thingy needs to be adjusted as you don`t know by looking which gear you are in but i just 'feel' it drop into reverse or drive and off i go. the power steering and brakes work perfectly and the original radio works great as does the drivers door remote mirror. the tires are new and this wagon just glides down the road, it puts my little honda to shame LOL. new brake hoses have been fitted to the front. a modern air conditioning compressor has been fitted and the air works well though the slider levers are a bit stiff. cruise control has been fitted and apparently works fine according to my friend though i have never used it as i`m not a fan of cruise control. the power tail gate window works perfectly from the switch on the dash or from the key lock on the tail gate itself. i was amazed at how the tail gate can either swing wide open or drop down, it is SOOOO cool that they came up with that so many years ago! the rear cargo floor is just about perfect apart from a couple of little digs. the big steel well that the kiddie seats fold out of is rust free, absolutely solid as a rock as is the rest of the car. the VIN is 2N76S134124 and we have clear title in hand. we have sent cars to ENGLAND, SWEDEN, NEW ZEALAND AND AUSTRALIA so we know how to do all the paperwork and charleston port is only 4 hours east of us. please note that the car is located at our second home in GREENVILLE SOUTH CAROLINA, ZIP 29687. if you want more pictures or would like to arrange an inspection/test drive then please call my hubby on 864 616 6860 up until 10pm east coast time. we urge you to come and drive this car if at all possible. if you want to fly in and drive home the local greenville SC airport code is GSP. you could drive this car home even if you live in Alaska it runs and drives that well. please only bid to own this car, you won`t be sorry. FULL PAYMENT IS DUE IN 3 DAYS AFTER AUCTIONS END. PAYMENT MUST BE BY CASH IN PERSON OR BY BANK WIRE TRANSFER, NO EXCEPTIONS. if you cannot abide by these simple terms then simply do not bid. please view my other auctions of antique car parts. thanks and good luck, beverly.
