Vehicle Detail
Good news I just found the replacement lower stainless trim picec fits lower rocker panel ps where hit so now all the rare parts are with it.. Also I have a friend who hes another 65 bonne safari parts car that has everything so if you need a ps side door he has it. And BTW I also have the mechanical stuff needed as well as a fender and everything you need to restore this Super Safari. Tripower setup etc...The Safari is up for sale again as the winner never paid for it! Please do not bid unless you intend to honor the transaction. Super Rare Four Speed Manual floor shift Tri-Power bench seat 1965 Bonneville Safari wagon. This is a one of a kind factory ordered safari wagon loaded up with options. I have documented the authenticity of this car thru Pontiac Historic Services. The factory build sheet/ invoice is as follows; Radio and manual antenna, underhood reel out lamp, custom front cushion seat, windshield washer and dual speed wipers, mirror visor vanity, inside non glare, outside remote, back up lamps,, lamp roof rail and reading, ash tray and lighter lamp, parking brake lamp, power steering ,power brakes, door edge guards, soft ray tinted glass all windows, power windows, power rear gate window, custom Air conditioning, Ride and Handling package=heave duty springs, shocks and stabilizer bar), seat belts w/outboard retractors, floor mats front and rear, Aluminum eight lug wheels, 4 speed synchromesh transmission, Tri-Power 389 Engine! Color is Montero Red outside and Red inside. Yes this car is in need of restoration, but it is still in fairly good condition. The body is totally original. There is a crease on the drivers side quarter panel and a few other areas that were drilled to pull out but never pulled out. These are small holes used to "fix" sheet metal in the old days. Good news is that is all they did. The holes can be filled and the creases fixed properly. The frame and floors are rust free. This Safari is from the Nevada desert. There is some rust in the drivers side quarter panel bottom area. As you can see the p.s. side front door and fender have been hit and are no good. The door took most of the hit and the body is still straight there. The glass window did not even break and is still in the door. I have the two door trim stainless piecec but not the long bottom piece. The rest of the Safari trim and stainless is in pretty decent shape. The chrome trim is pretty good two like the grilles no pits rear gate panel no pits etc... The original 389 Tripower engine is long gone but I do have a perfect date coded 4spd. 4bbl. 389. The only difference on the engine codes is a WE for 4bbl 4spd. and WF for 3pwr. 4spd. if the winner wants this replacement engine it is another $1,000 added to the final price. The Safari comes with the original "Long Tail" Muncie four speed transmission with the linkage still attached, no shifter. It also comes with all the 4spd. parts not currently in the car; bellhousing, flywheel, clutch fork, clutch fork rod, clutch counter shaft, pedal assembly, and clutch rod. In 1965 only 426 Full size Pontiacs were built with the super rare code WF engine. That is total production including all three speed manual cars. Most of these were put into Grand Prix and Catalinas. I have never heard of another 1965 Bonneville Safari with these options. I have had this for over 15 years and have not restored it so it is time to let it go. Do not let this super rare Safari get away. You will have a real dream car.
