I’m selling my 1973 Rokon RT340. I bought this bike back in 2003 from a guy in Wisconsin. When I picked it up it was so nice I couldn’t bring myself to ride it. It’s been sitting in my house/garage ever since.This is a very historical bike. It had front and rear hydraulic disc brakes 10 years before the japanese bikes. It had an infinitely variable automatic transmission, similar to a snowmobile. It had cast alloy wheels. It won the first ISDT Engineering Achievement Award and finishes 4 out of 4 with medals at the Six Days Trial. It was a bike ahead of its time.It features a speedometer with odometer on the right, a pocket watch under a magnifying lens on the left and a map scroller (vintage GPS) in the middle of a spring loaded, shock absorbing instrument platform. It has a thick leather tool satchel mounted on the rear rack. The motor is a 340cc Sachs. It has a drivetrain similar to a snowmobile with a drive and driven clutch. The driven clutch is attached to a transfer case which has a gear that the chain drives the rear wheel. This setup facilitates an infinite number of gear ratios, as opposed to the typical 4,5, or 6 speed transmissions found on most bikes.On Jun-09-13 at 18:31:51 PDT, seller added the following information:If you need to have the bike shipped, I would suggest using uship.com.
