Vehicle Detail
For your consideration is a 1966 Sunbeam Alpine series V, the car has been in my possession around 14 years. In that time I have spent considerable time and money getting the car to the condition you now see it in. The good: new top professionally installed(approx. 7 yrs. ago), New carpet(approx. 8 yrs. ago), Panasport wheels(6 yrs. ago) the original steel wheels will go with the car as well, Yokohoma tires same time, Brake booster rebuilt professionally(5 yrs. ago), master cylinder replaced around same time, new Koni shocks(5 yrs. ago), motor rebuilt by local machine shop(approx. 4 yrs. ago). Interior in very good condition no tears in seats, starts right up and runs good, shifts smoothly, handles well for a 47 year old car, brakes work well, rear drums do sometimes stick when sitting over winter. The not so good: odometer states 44,593 but is broken so no idea of actual mileage, car does have some rust, car was re-painted and body filler used to fix common rust areas around quarters on both sides of car, front and rear quarters, all body work was done before I owned the car so I have no knowledge of exactly what was done. As you can see in the pictures car looks good, but when you get close you can see that body filler was used in the quarter panels. The drivers side door looks like it was dented and also repaired with filler. The passengers side door has some chipped paint on edge. Some minor chips and dings from normal use on rest of body. Floor seems solid. As stated before the motor has been re-built and car runs well, however car has developed an over-heating problem that I can only assume is a head gasket, but by no means am certain or have I confirmed this with a mechanic. After the rebuild the oil pan began leaking a little, I replaced the gasket, but the leak is still there. I am a straight forward seller with a 100% positive feedback on over 200 transactions, I am trying to cover as best I can all the good and bad about the car. I began this project hoping to make the car a fun weekend car for my wife and I and got about 90% of the way there, the car needs someone with more knowledge then myself to get it the rest of the way there i.e. over heating problem, oil leak. I have become a little frustrated and ready to move on to another project and free up some garage space. By the way the car has always been stored inside. Car is being sold in as is condition with no warranty what so ever, buyer is completely responsible for arranging shipping, but will help shipper if needed, auction is only open to lower 48 states no international bids accepted, sorry. A $500 deposit via. paypal is required 24hrs. after bidding ends and rest due in cash at time of pick up. If you have questions or would like to see the car just ask and we can make arrangements. Good luck and happy bidding.
