Vehicle Detail

'68 GTO I am the second owner of this car, bought it back in '05 intending to restore. This car needs serious work, or can be used as a donor car. THIS IS A REAL 242 VIN GTO The original body was in poor shape and acquired a '69 GTO body for a replacement. I am sure the odometer has rolled, and it reads 23937. I have already started to conversion when I found there were several differences that my body shop instructor and I were not aware of so it has a couple issues with the tail panel and driver's quarter panel. The dash panel was swapped from the original body over, and the firewall was sectioned in with the original AC firewall.I would have used new parts but there were no aftermarket replacements at the time. The floors are solid, and the core support is solid. Good deck lid, good driver's side door, and passenger door has a big dent. I have a lot of stainless but not sure if I have it all or not. The frame is solid. I do have the original AC compressor and condenser. The only way to tell the body is from a '69 is the driver's side quarter panel, door jamb, and fresh air vents under the dash. The engine had been rebuilt once that I know of, it had a slightly bigger Comp Cam, Keith Black hypereutectic pistons, Chrome Moly rings, rods had the casting marks smoothed out, and chrome moly push rods. Car options and other facts: -WT engine Code, numbers matching 400 -Original 4 speed car, has a close ratio M21 installed but this is not original to the car -Factory AC -Deluxe hubcaps with steel wheels -I have a set of 5 Pontiac Rally II wheels (need resto) with new stainless beauty rings that are included -3.27 Open differential (Factory air cars only came with open end) -4 Wheel Power Drums -Power Steering (I also have a power steering unit and gear box from a late '70s TA for the better turn ratio that is included with sale) -Original body color: Solar Red -Original Interior Color: Parchment (Pearl White) -Hurst Shifter -I have a set of Eibach Springs that were never installed -Have the original Q-Jet that needs help -Headers are installed, but have original manifolds -All original tinted glass except windshield is aftermarket Major things the car needs or is missing: -Driver's Fender needs replaced, It was replaced at some point in the past with a badly damaged piece that was sculpted to fit. -Driver's quarter replaced -Tail panel - Hood, original hood folded in half when tried to close it last year. I still have the original scoop inserts. -The engine hasn't had an intake on it for several years (I had a performer Pontiac with a Holly Double Pumper, but were stolen off the car) so engine condition unknown -Trans rebuild -Complete interior -Missing AC dash pad -Will need fuel tank and straps (I bought it with a big dent in the tank) -Needs complete interior -I do have the body tag, the body was rotting underneath and I wanted to save it. I recently moved before I decided to sell this vehicle. I stated that I have the body tag, I have been looking for it while getting the parts together over the last couple of days. The Body tag may not be availble at the time of sale and I will keep looking for it. I understand if this has an effect on your bidding but I hope we can still make a deal.
