Vehicle Detail
I purchased this from the original family that purchased the truck in 1955. It’s spent the rest of its life, in the family, in the California town it was purchased in. I drove the truck onto the trailer, and into our driveway on its own power, but no breaks (including e-brake). It’s very close to original, more things are working than not and the blue in the patina is the factory original color. It’s a fantastic base for retsto rod or numbers-matching restore. I was only a set of tires, break overhaul, tuneup & a couple of weekends in the garage away from driving this to my local cruise night ‘as is’ when the economy claimed another “wanted to restore it, but now you get to instead” situation… I'm certain the odometer has to have 'rolled over' by now. eBay wouldn't give me a 'mileage unknown' option, so ignore the 'mileage' it forced me to fill in. Bad: * Breaks do not work * Tires will roll onto a trailer, but not drivable * Passenger door glass needs replacing (but driver glass can be used as pattern) * Typical rust in in cab corners & quarter sized spot on driver fender (see pics) * I noticed while taking pictures, the passenger rear light lens want to pop out easy(ish), I threw it in the glove box, as I’m afraid it may get lost in transit. * Cab light cover is missing * Passenger door is too close to passenger fender, so it needs a flat screwdriver to cheat it open (to allow the door to pass the fender without binding) until someone adjusts the door or fender (do this just above the 3200 emblem where the styling reaches a point – you’ll see it) . * Tailgate looks like it’s had a couple welded / field repairs at some seams, but it functions great. Since I was going to keep the original patina, I was just going to leave this as part it’s farm look. * Horn button on steering wheel is missing * Knob to passenger wing window missing Good: * Engine starts & runs (needs tune-up & new fuel pump) * The four on the floor was a dealer installed option, is absurdly rare, the shifts are solid & smooth * 3200 / long bed model carries full sheets of plywood * Gauges work * Panoramic wrap-around rear glass * Steering is SOLID * Factory speaker / box / mount is installed (but in unknown condition) * Most knobs are present and in good condition * Other than needing a cover, the seat (springs / foam / structurally) is in great condition. * Glove box is fully functioning and fiberboard is still in good enough condition to easily hold hand tools * Comes with all four original wheels (two will be in the cab of the truck – we used different tires to get it on the trailer) * Front headlights work * Heater * Locks & key are fully functioning I have clean title / pink slip in hand, registered non-op so we don’t have to pay California insurance to have it sit in the driveway, but NO BACK REGISTRATION. Winning bidder to pay $500 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours, and remaining payment due within 7 days, of auction close. Seller to arrange pickup within three weeks of auction close.
