Vehicle Detail
Hi, I am selling my 1963 BMW R69S and it is an original bike and all numbers match. I have clear title and the bike is registered in CA through 2014. If you have ever wanted to, dreamed of or thought of owning one of these then this is the one for you. I searched for many years and finally found one that was not monkeyed with, abused, neglected and thus restored. This is an original, well cared for lifetime California German machine / work of art. I am the second owner and it comes with the owners manual/instruction paperwork which is rare in itself. It has spare key (metal top), ignition key (black plastic top) and tool box key. I have owned and own many bikes and this is by far the best machine I have ever ridden. It is extremely stable at speed, has amazing acceleration and top end and is extremely reliable. This is an amazing original condition motorcycle but do not be fooled, there are nicks scratches and a small dent in the tank and scuff on rear shock tower (all shown). The factory paint still has wonderful shine and gloss as can be seen by the photo with my ugly head in it and it looks more like a mirror than a gas tank. The area that is red is original paint that has been worn down to original primer over the years which just adds to the value of this wonderful machine. Please keep in mind, there are hundreds of really nice restored R69S' in in the world but very few wonderful condition original bikes that have been well taken care of and are still numbers matching. In fact, original condition bikes in this shape are extremely hard to find. I looked for years and could have found 20 great restored ones in an hour. . The motor is in top shape and runs beautifully just as the transmission does. All the gauges, charging system and lights work as should. I changed the petcock last month but the original Everbest comes with the bike and just had a slow leak in the on position. Horn is aftermarket I changed all of the fluids about 200 miles ago at which time we converted the final drive to Moly instead of oil. All the splines looked new and this will help keep them that way. There is nothing wrong with this bike. It functions wonderfully mechanically and electrically and is a pure pleasure to ride. There is no rust in the gas tank. I will ship this bike anywhere in the world but all arrangements must be made by the buyer. I will assist in any way I can. The closest port of export is Long Beach, CA and I can assist with transport to the port but crating and shipping must be arranged by buyer and their freight forwarder. If the bike is sold in the US I have a wonderful carrier who can transport this bike from my door to anywhere in the US for $650 and the bike will never leave the truck once it is loaded other than to safely move the load within the truck. All he takes is bikes and I have used him without fail for years.
