We have personally driven and inspected this vehicle. Engine starts, runs, sound and performs excellent. There are no leaks, smoke, overheating or knocking sounds. Transmission shifts all gears smoothly. Good tires, brakes and tight suspension. Interior is clean and non smoker. Exterior is clean with no sign of previous damage. The truck runs like a champ and it has no issues at all. We know these truck better than most dealers that are selling them online! NOTE; We purchased this truck at a dealer auction here in Southern California, the truck was sold by a dealer that picked up this truck as a trade. When we purchased the truck the truck has a fifth wheel and due to the fifth wheel you may see a structural damage reported to the CarFax, the truck has NOT been in an accident you can rest assure since you have it in writing here. As stated, the truck came with fifth wheel that you can have if you wish. Truth be told when it’s due even though it may hurt: Since we get a lot of calls from folks that are either buying their first diesel trucks or have been haggled and played at other dealerships we thought perhaps we should put our two cents in here to clear a few facts; If you are buying your first diesel trucks and/or you do not know the market on them then you should allow yourself the opportunity to be open minded to research and ask some questions. Now, since you have landed on this page then we are going to talk about a PowerStorke. First things first; When it comes to PowerStroke t; you must know that Kelly Blue Book (KBB), NADA or Black Book do not represent the true value of these vehicles (price is always the first thing on the customer’s mind). What really determines the value of a vehicle is the market, condition and the options of the vehicle period. If KBB and these other guides were so on the money then why a 7.3L powerstroke would would sell several thousand dollars over their suggest retail value and why would a 6.0L would sell less than suggest retail value? Look online and see how outrages some of dealers are asking for these trucks, most of whom do not know their left from right when it comes to diesels!! When we say most of them we are talking perhaps about 90% of them… Hence, when it comes to diesel trucks (such as older 5.9L Cummins, 7.3 and 6.0L Super Duty) KBB, NADA or these other sources do not represent the true value of a vehicle. So what you must know; Most of the trucks (about 80% of all) that dealers are selling online come from a dealer auction (nothing negative here because it really doesn’t matter from whom it was purchased from). Whenever you are shopping however you need to always ask two questions; where the truck came from and what inspections have you performed since you got it? You see: most dealers (and even not all) only perform a safety inspection since they are required by law. Even if you go to a franchised dealer and ask for an inspection you are not going to get an inspection that is worthy. Why? Because you are not going to get an engine diagnostics and that is what you really want to have done unless your money grows on trees… An engine diagnostics is not something that a vast majority of independent dealers are capable of doing since they do not have the knowledge or the tools. Engine diagnostics on PowerStroke: Injector Buzz test as it is referred to by Ford, Cylinder Contribution Test; this must be done when the truck is cold and also when the truck is running. There are three test; hydraulic, mechanical and electronic, you have to make sure that the truck does not miss fire (up to 2007 the fuel injectors on these trucks operate with the fuel and oil), On Demand Self Test, Glow Plug Self Test, Check the boost on the truck (you want to see how many lbs of boost the truck is putting out), going over all the temperature and speeds inside that motor via data logger. VGT: (variable geometry Turbo) Testing VGT Actuator, ECT: Engine Cooler Test, EOT: Engine Oil Temperature, Check Boost= MGP Manifold Gauge Pressure, MAP: Manifold Absolute Pressure, MAF: Mass Air Flow, IPR: Injection Pressure Regulator, EBP: Exhaust Back Pressure, Baru and Fan Speed Test. Oil leaks, coolant leak, fuel leak, belt inspection, battery test, transmission leak, differential leak, ball joints and so more… This of course only pertains to the drive train. The physical condition of the vehicle should be taken in to factor. Where the trucks came from; was the truck driven in salt and snow, what was it sued for to the best of the dealer’s knowledge? Whereof, you need to ask the dealer where the truck came from and what inspections they have performed. All the inspection stated above has been done on our truck; we usually try to purchase a California vehicle since they are mostly used to pull a trailer, toy hauler, and boat or a fifth wheel recreationally. Most trucks in Middle America are used as work trucks; trucks from the north are sometimes rusty due to the salt and snow… As stated; the value of a vehicle should be determined by the market, condition and options. A dealer can brag about their accomplishments and how many vehicles they stock or sell but are they reconditioning their vehicle as they should? What inspections have their vehicle gone through? Certainly, when you perform the correct inspections the issues are recognized and thereafter, the issues must be corrected. All of this cost money and most dealers do not want to spend the extra dollar because it does not make financial sense. Perhaps that is the reason most will offer you a 30 days warranty that does not cover mostly anything and the limit of liability on that warranty is only $1000 with a $100 deductable just to make you feel good, what we call a make you feel good warranty! OC Autos does not have a 30 days warranty since we do not believe in those warranties, yet what we offer you is this: take our vehicle to a franchised certified diesel master technician, if our vehicle fails any mechanical or electrical inspection, we will PAY for your inspection no questions asked! The choice is yours so is the money, we put ours where our mouth is.
