Vehicle Detail
This may not be your father’s Buick, but it has been in my family for its entire life. It has been an everyday car for 14 years. As you can see, it has the scars you would expect to see on a car of its age. Due to a death in the family I have 3 cars where I only need one. The engine has never seen any problems. All lights and utilities function properly. The vehicle starts right up, a/c and heat function properly. It rides fine and shifts smoothly and is roomy (my dog much prefers his ride in this car than my small Volvo.) There are no fluid leaks that I know of. Brakes are good, there are no exhaust issues. There are several issues with this car I want you to be aware of: One - In order to pass inspection you will need a couple of new tires. These made it through the winter but admittedly are late in life. One tire has approximately 7,500 miles on it, a second is okay, the other two not. I just don't feel like buying new tires (or pay the additional insurance) merely to keep an extra car on the road. Two - The check engine light, as you can see in the picture, is not on. Sometimes it goes on after you get gas and stays on for about 35 miles. It has been like this a couple of years (and passed inspection). The gas cap does not tighten properly and I never bothered to replace it. When it seals properly, light is out. When not, it is on. Three – Gas gauge reading is inconsistent. Strictly supposition here, but in 2012 someone siphoned gas from the tank and the gauge hasn’t worked properly since. Is there a float in these things? I don’t know. When you fill the tank, it will read correctly. After you use about a half tank the reading is not reliable. Four – There is a tear in the back seat. One picture shows you the size with a 4" square of carpet next to it as the comparison. Five – As you can see in the pictures, the sub-frame is rusting. Again, it does not impact the driving, but it exists. Six – Windshield washer fluid doesn't work properly. Thank you for your time and interest.
