Add May Load slowly due to the many Photos attached THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION AND THE AUCTION WILL NOT BE ENDED EARLY FOR ANY REASON ------------------------------1962 Impala Convertible---------------------------- * Clear Kentucky Title issued in 1989 * Has been In storage for many years. * 66,000 miles on odometer--actual mileage unknown. * Originally this car was Paint code 936 Ermine White with a Trim code of 886 for Red Interior. * 235 6 Cylinder Motor * Optional 2 Speed Powerglide AutomaticTransmission * Optional Power Steering * Optional Power Top * Optional Pushbutton Am Radio (works) * Optional Two Speed Wiper with Washer * Optional Tinted Front Windshield * Optional Day Night Rear View Mirror After many years of storage(license plate on car was from the year 2002) the car Started right up with some attention to the Carburetor and Fuel lines---The motor smokes a lot however. The transmission shifts fine--the brakes work---the car runs and drives. Apparently a restoration was started on the car before it was parked as the interior cleaned up beautifully and looks great and the Top and Wellliner are like new. The Wipers,Dash Lights,Heater,Headlights and Radio all work The Gas Gauge, Horn and Clock do not work. The original Steering Wheel is Cracked in areas but a nice replacement with no cracks comes with the car. The Sun Visors are in excellent condition. The interior Seat Covers, Doorpanels etc..are not covered in the original material but all are in excellent condition throughout. The area of the dash around the radio has been hacked up near the left dial as shown in the photos. Both armrests have damage to the plastic bases. Interior window/door handles,convertible top latchs and ash trays have pitting to the chrome. The carpet is excellent. The top is in excellent condition, the plastic rear window is very clear, the top latches very tightly. The power top pump and lines are not hooked up but do come with the car, the top frame is very solid and opens and closes properly. Nearly all the Chrome and aluminum trim is present--most in excellent condition--the only piece missing is the small trim piece near the Drivers side rear quarter window as shown in the pictures. The two outside rear view mirrors, the door handles and the radio antenna bezel are all pitted. The bumpers need rechroming and have a few small dents.. The Door and Front Fender central Trim pieces on the Drivers side have been attached with screws instead of the proper clips. All four hubcaps are present and in nice condition with just a few scattered dings. All the glass is in beautiful condition---the front window is the original and labeled" SHAT R PROOF Shaded Safety Plate Solid Tempered"---there are light wiper marks on both sides. The drivers side front window and its window tracks are loose but come with the car. The other three Windows and the vent windows roll up and down and open easily. The Emergency brake is not working properly but all the parts are intact. THERE ARE A NUMBER OF RUSTED OUT SECTIONS ON THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THIS CAR---when this car was "restored" ,I presume in the 1980's, whoever welded the repairs was not very skilled! Hood-The hood hinges do not operate properly and the hood must be propped up. The hood is very rusty on the underside of the entire front edge and should be replaced Front Fenders-Both appear solid. Front Fenderwells-Both appear solid. Drivers Side Floorpan-rusted through in areas. Pass. Floorpan-rusted through in areas. Trunk Floor-a rusted through area in the center front Rear Quarters-a magnet will not stick to the bottom of both rear quarters. Frame-Some areas of rust will need repair. The gas tank looks newer and I do not believe it is the original. The tires appear new and are not dry rotted but I assume they are 10+ years old.
