1956 Mercury 55H

Immaculately restored 1956 Mercury 55H. Restored in 2007 by Bob Lampman of Antique Outboard Club. Not mounted since restoration, but lubricated and turned over regularly. Great motor for your vintage hydro or runabout. Also selling Sid-Craft D-Class Hydroplane (pictured), but NOT included in this auction. Sid-Craft is for sale separately on eBay. No time to use this great vintage racing combination. Pick up only. I have revised the year of the restoration, after sourcing the picture of me with the motor when I purchased it. It was Mount Dora, March, 2007. In response to a question about the year, I reviewed my notes on the motor, and determined that it is a 1956, which is confirmed by the description and Serial Number (984749) range from the instruction plate and confirmed on the oldmercs-dot-com site. When I listed the motor, my impulse recollection was that it was a 1955, and I am pleased to be corrected on this by the passionate fans of these motors. An additional question was asked about the Tillotson carbs. I have uploaded a picture showing the KA7A stamp on the upper carb. For full validation of the authenticity of this motor, I have pulled the top off the motor and included a pic of the Serial Number on the block - 984749 - correct for a 1956 Mercury 55H.
