I am selling this for a friend who is moving to Florida and feels the bike needs to go to a new home. Rob has owned this bike for the past 10 years and used it regularly all that time, until putting it up last Fall. I got the bike out this Spring, using it enough to get a sense of how it runs, and also to do a few maintenance items. With its' sealed battery the bike started instantly after sitting all winter, and it runs, shifts drives and stops as it should. Bike also comes with owner's manual and tool kit. Frame and engine have matching numbers and there is a clear New York title. This bike is old enough for all AMCA functions, and I think it would be judged at the 95 points needed to be a Senior bike. As far as I know this bike was always garaged and adult owned; the paint and plated parts reflect this, the bike is in exceptional condition for 40 years old. Everything is original except for the Brown side stand, which I consider a good period upgrade. There are two problems I have found- The tachometer does not work at all, and the speedometer has a broken needle. Also, the odometer has stopped, Rob says this just happened... These bikes are known to have issues with speedo/tach , so this will need to be addressed by new owner. If you want a classic BMW that is affordable and easy to work on this could be the one. ( Electric starting is sometimes a real plus). Please note that I require a deposit via Paypal within 48 hrs, and full payment within 10 days either by check, money transfer, or cash in person.
